The kid has the worst luck. Literally would have probably won if it wasn’t for the inspection.

William Byron finished the first playoff race 7th tonight in Las Vegas driving the Liberty University Chevy #24. It moved him from 13th to 9th in the playoff standings. Great jump and great showing. He’s moving the right direction.

It’d be great for him to win his first race in Virginia this week at the Richmond Raceway in the Liberty car!04-rock

RE: William Byron-NASCAR-Liberty U.
What a disasterous day for Byron, finishing 25th and never being competitive all day.
He dropped from 9th to 12th in playoff spots and is only 2 points above the cut line.
Next week at the Roval in Charlotte is critical. He has to have a great showing to advance to the next round of the playoffs.

Another Top 10 finish for Willy B. He rolled across the finish line 6th. He has moved along to the next round of NASCAR Championship playoffs, currently sitting in 11th of the 12 cars that advanced.04-cheers

DOVER:

03-banghead Byron started the race 6th and moved up to finish Stage 1 in 4th place. That’s when things went downhill. He had a Top 5 car, but got a speeding penalty on pit road. The penalty caused him to fall 2 laps behind. He could never recover finishing the race 13th.

Oddly enough, he moved up 3 spots in the playoff spots and is now in 8th and in the final cut spot heading into the next race at Talladega. 04-cheers

TALLADEGA:
Byron qualified 3rd for Talladega today. He was surrounded by all of his teammates, who all took the Top 4 spots heading up to the green flag.
Byron won stage 1 of the race. Then came the rains. The race was halted and will resume at 2pm on Monday. But Willy B. picked up 10 points in the playoffs for winning the Stage as well as a playoff point.

TALLADEGA:
03-hissyfit03-banghead03-hissyfit Well, that was aweful! After winning stage 1, Byron finished 7th in Stage 2. He was running in the Top 10 and vying for the lead with 26 laps left when he was crashed out by a car from behind, finishing 33rd.

03-weeping That drops him all the way to 12th in playoff race. Only the top 8 drivers advance. It pretty much puts him in a must win situation next weekend at Kansas.

Martinsville, VA:
Driving the Liberty University car, Byron started the race 11th. He finished Stage 1 in 6th, Stage 2 in 6th, and finished the race in 2nd chasing down the eventual race winner. Great job by LU student William Byron.

Oh yeah, I missed last weeks race recap. He finished 5th in Kansas after starting 25th. But it wasn’t enough to keep him in the Championship hunt. He rose to 10th place, just missing the Top 8 cutoff.

He’ll be racing in Texas this weekend.

I think it counts as a “win.” It came with a trophy and he celebrated in the winners circle. It’s not a regular season win, and had so season total value.

Yeah I was a little confused but a top 10 finish in the real one is good.

The real one is today at 4 pm. He is currently in 7th. They postponed it yesterday due to rain. They got 20 laps in. 180 to go.
