Liberty U.’s William Byron won the pole for the Daytona 500 today.
:rock:Way to go young man!04-cheers
TV commentators were saying “He wins the pole for the 500 today, and tomorrow he’ll be back in class at Liberty University.”

RE: William Byron-NASCAR-Liberty U.
That’s big time! Last year he did okay but hopefully this starts a playoff season for him this year. Last year he had 0 poles, 0 top 5 finishes, and 4 top 10 finishes. Hoping for at least a top 5 out of the pole position. Seems like Hendrick has their cars looking good so far.

He has Jimmie Johnson's old crew chief this year and a full year of cup experience. He's well positioned to succeed in 2019 and we remain a secondary sponsor for him.

He was running very well in the Duel as well until they told him to back it down.

Oh Man! Byron was in contention for the win and a sure Top 5 finish when he was taken out by a car crashing below him with 2 laps to go in the Daytona 500. He’s gonna have a good season.

What a shame. What about the time he was behind the guy that lost fuel pressure. Went from like 4th to 27th. Terrible luck that race.

The kid was racey the whole night. I think he could have won, especially if Jimmy Johnson hadn’t have been crashed up too. He needed that teamate and Checy driver to help push him.

He needs a nickname. Any suggestions?

Finished today at 17. Not bad considering his car was off all day.

It was what it was. None of the Hendricks cars were competitive at all today, finishing 15, 17, 19, 24. He started the race 17 and finished 17, never getting any higher than 13. Hope HMS brings more competitive cars out west next week.

RE: William Byron-NASCAR-Liberty U.
LAS VEGAS: Byron finished 16th after starting 20th. He ran 17 laps in the lead. He started the final leg of the race in 11th but faded a bit to 16th due to a pit stop.

He currently stands 16th in the Championship standings, making him the final driver to qualify for the playoffs after the first three races.

ISR RACEWAY, Arizona- Byron started 7th and finished 24th. Bummer. He was running near Top 10 and had a loose tire, went to the pits, and that was a wrap.

Yep, he led a lap and ran 10-20 most of the day. Think his highest point was 9th. He started 22nd though. I really thought he’d get a top 10 today. It’s looking more and more like a mediocre season again.

He’s currently 18th in the Championship standings, two spots out of a playoff spot.

The road courses will be where he has to make up ground. Those should be top 5 finishes but no less than top 10.

Hey, Hey! William got a Top 10, finishing 6th in Texas today. He started the race 2nd and ran in the top 10 a majority of the day. He led I believe 15 laps. Let’s hope he can build some positive momentum from this race and carry it over.

Qualified 2nd at Bristol (The Last Great Colloseum) and will start on the outside of row one alongside his teamate and pole winner Chase Elliott.

03-banghead Finished 16th. Never really had speed to run up front.

He’s in 18th position for the season 20 points out of the final playoff spot (Top 16).

Raced at Richmond today in the LU paint scheme. Started 13th and finished finished 13th. Pretty much ran in that position all day.
