To use the current lingo - Ilhan Omar was basically dog whistling that the Jews are trying to pay people off with their money because - they're Jews and "that's what they do". If you recall in your history classes about Nazi Germany circa the 1930s - honestly anywhere in Europe really since the middle ages - the Jews were the bankers. Typical stereotype was to show an "evil Jew" buying everything with money.

That's the point. Ilhan Omar didn't cite anything specific that was an obvious critique of Israel. There's plenty that she could have stated. Sadly, she made a generic stereotype that was popular from the middle ages up to the 1940s.

It's the exact same tactics that the Nazis used to demonize the Jews in the 1930's.

Ask yourself what would happen if a GOP member of the House mentioned the NAACP the exact same way how it would be treated. We both know that in that case an apology would never suffice, and based upon your posting history that you'd likely be calling for his resignation.
