Lol.

Also long-time-no-see, Jerry. Back from a message board vacation?

We'll probably be underdogs @Kent and home to Toledo. Then we should be favored vs. WMU, CMU, @NIU, and BSU (or at least 3 of the 4).

We got to make some money playing WMU, CMU and BSU at home.
Last night proved that JT and BT should not be on the floor together. The reasons are many. The guards try too hard to feed the post with both of them in there resulting in TOs and shot clock violations, more space opens up in the paint for PJ to drive, JT and BT tend to play in each other's shadow and fight for the same rebounds...

Use BT off the bench and only play them together when the situation calls for it. Come on Murphy, it's obvious. Don't hold the team back with stubbornness.

I completely agree. We came to this conclusion after the first few weeks of the season.

100%. We need 4 around 1 with JT in the middle -- it'll open JT up to be creative and kick out to more space for outside shooters when the dive down to double.

Also, the announcer mentioned JT not scoring with his back to the basket for like 3 weeks or something? That's terrible coaching considering this is a strength of JT's.

My own hypothesis is that Murphy sold JT on returning this year by promising to give him an opportunity to showcase himself as a stretch 4 for the pros. It’s the only possible thing that explains his usage.

Unfortunately Frank I was hospitalized for a couple of weeks. I was away from the computer. Fortunately, however, my assigned physical therapist turned out to be Mike1989 on the board so I received periodic updates. He's a good guy.

Okay, so here we are. MAC has

Two teams at 9-2 (Buffalo, BG)
One team at 8-3 (Toledo)
Two six-win teams (Kent, Akron)
Four five-win teams (Miami, CMU, EMU, NIU)
A four-win team (Ball)
And Western (1-10).

Our remaining slate is @Kent, Toledo, WMU, CMU, @NIU, Ball, and @Toledo.

This team can win some games on that schedule, but it has to get the job done on Toledo next week if we want third or even fourth. Toledo’s schedule is Buffalo tonight, after that we are the only thing between them and a 14-win conference season. Other teams ahead of us have each other to play and will not win out.

I think the 3-seed ship has sailed. One of Bowling Green or Toledo would need a pretty epic collapse for us to have any shot at jumping them. The 4-seed is much more attainable if we win in Kent on Saturday, but would still probably require a 5-1 finish after that. And we would also need Akron to lose some along the way.

This is why these late season runs are so frustrating. Early losses to teams like CMU, Akron, and Miami are such killers.

Thanks Jerry. It was awesome working with you. You and this EMU board have taught me a lot about basketball and football. Go Green.

Saturday's game is CRUCIAL for any hopes going for a #4 seed.

Remember: IF we beat Kent, we'll be ONE game behind them AND hold the tie breaker (beating Kent twice).

So we are playing to tie with Kent for the #4 slot and win the tie breaker.

EDIT: Akron is one game ahead and holds the tie-breaker, BUT they have a very tough schedule ahead.

What an uncanny coincidence you would match up like that!
In any case, glad you are doing better, Jerry! Keep it up...

EMU needs a win against Kent St. it would be nice to see them at 6-6 (still a disappointment given talent, but...). Conversely, a loss leaving them at 5-7 with a loss, feels like a hole too deep this late in the season. I will be watching tomorrow...

I would not be unhappy with a split of two road games before we return home for THREE straight games at the Convo.

Other than 'every game counts in the conference season' the big question is McAdoo's ankle.

Lest I be wrong, he did not play in the 2nd half and spent a lot of time on the stationary bike.

We need his shooting to open things up inside...

Well we got the split by winning at Ohio...
