Watching it. Woodside (Toledo) starting for San Antonio. Fair number of MAC players including Richard Ash playing for SA.

Richard Ash was cut 2 weeks ago in the final round of roster cuts. No Broncos on current AAF rosters. Cool to see Woodside starting for SA though.

I watched the SA/SD game last night. It was entertaining. I liked the fast pace and it was nice to see people having fun playing the game.

After watching last night's games, I think I really like this league. They seem to be doing a great job building it the right way. Very community focused. Each team has a geographical area that they draw players from (as well as general free agents from around the country). They aim to keep local stars in the area to draw in the fans that watched them in college.

They brought in lots of players, coaches and administrators with NFL experience. They want to play good, clean, fast-paced football. Big names in the front office like Bill Polian, Troy Palamalu, Hines Ward, Jared Allen. Coaches include guys like Steve Spurrier, Mike Martz, Dennis Erickson and Mike Singletary.

The production quality was great and I thought the camera angles were actually better than current NFL/NCAA productions. Few penalties. Not a lot of diva crap, jaw-jacking, fights and other insufferable crap the NFL is plagued with.

I'm intrigued and I hope this does well. Football all year!!

I was looking at it, and the rules are some Pro Bowl crap. No cornerback blitzes. No high-pressure blitzes. No kickoffs. Calvinball rules in place of onside kicks. I'm willing to tolerate some changes, but don't dumb-down the defense. This league stinks like a way to hook people into fantasy football gambling, including plans to pay players based on statistical achievements.

My unpopular opinion: fantasy football ruins real football.

The logic behind the blitzing rules was to err on the side of caution and player safety because the suspicion is that, especially early on, offensive lines are going to struggle in protection because of inexperience and short times to get up to speed.

This seems to be accurate because there has been no shortage of QB pressure despite these rules in the games I've watched.

No kickoffs is just the way the game is trending.

If you don't want your quarterback to get hit by a linebacker, don't run 7-step drops.
