...and loved it.

The new student center is crazy cool. I'm a bit jealous of all the amenities the kids today get that we didn't have. She goes to tour NC State Friday. Hopefully it will rain. 03-wink

Keep the faith.

My experience is that daughters tend to follow fathers even more than sons in traditional things. It's that special connection.

Two excellent opportunities. I hope she finds the school that fits best.

From what I saw of NC State's Campus, I wasn't impressed.

NC State's campus is ugly, insanely spread out, and completely sucks. The campus that shocked me that I went to recently in a good way was UNC Charlotte.

RE: OT - My daughter toured ECU today...
My daughter has been accepted to ECU, VCU, Marymount (VA), and Radford thus far. ECU was one of the first to accept her which makes me proud (ECU Grad 89') however we live in Virginia and we have excellent colleges in Virginia. Plus tuition is a lot less in state despite scholarships. My son is a Junior at Virginia Tech.

My daughter's top choices are James Madison and Virginia Tech. So we will find out about those by mid March. I believe she will end up a Duke at JMU. I have a niece there as well and my nephew graduated there a few years ago. Anyway, I am rambling.

Though I constantly exposed my kids to all things ECU growing up, ultimately, they had/have to choose the best path for them. And I am ok with that!

Did a visit there when my son was looking at Engineering Schools. Thought the main "brick" campus was average compared to other schools we looked at. However I was impressed with the Graduate School Campus and the Athletic Complex where the football stadium and basketball center are located. Like many in town campus's the school has out grown the main campus and town but the outer campus's and complexes are very modern and NC State appears to have done a good job with their expansion projects. 02-13-banana 02-13-banana 02-13-banana COGS COGS COGS 04-cheers

***UPDATE (specifically for Bearcats#1, but others may read as well)***

She did not particularly care for NC State. She commented on the bricks. She thought the campus was too spread out.

The beauty of your statements is that your daughter will not go wrong with any of these choices. I have visited all of these campuses. All are wonderful. Good luck, to your daughter.

I was in Raleigh over the Christmas break and met a recruiter. She said, "We give lip service to the University of North Carolina and Duke but we actively recruit students attending NC State. We like their students. It is the best school in the region."

ECU and NC State are athletic rivals. I have no problem knowing that NC State is a competitive school in a great market. Raleigh is a playground. If a person feels something is missing on the campus, you can find it somewhere in the area.

Meaning nobody from Duke wants to work for them and all the kids from UNC are douchenozzles.

Sorry but nobody actually think NC State is a better school than Duke.

The post graduation employment statistics don't bear this out. Either that recruiter was lying to you or was in some particular niche.
