Racisss!

No one is that obtuse. The two in black face violated no laws. Being stupid is not an issue for prosecution. Rape is.

Bullcrap. His remorse came only when Northam got into trouble for doing something he had done himself, and knew there was evidence to support it. I highly doubt this arseclown lost any sleep for 30 years because he wore blackface, rather, I believe he only cared about this when it had a chance of becoming politically burdensome.

Quote:A second woman has come forward accusing Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax of sexual assault.

Lawyers for Meredith Watson released a statement Friday saying that she was raped by Fairfax while they were both Duke University students in 2000, and called for Fairfax’s resignation.

The statement is as follows:

We serve as counsel for Meredith Watson, who was raped by Justin Fairfax in 2000, while they were both students at Duke University. Mr. Fairfax’s attack was premeditated and aggressive. The two were friends but never dated or had any romantic relationship.

Ms. Watson shared her account of the rape with friends in a series of emails and Facebook messages that are now in our possession. Additionally, we have statements from former classmates corroborating that Ms. Watson immediately told friends that Mr. Fairfax had raped her.

Ms. Watson was upset to learn that Mr. Fairfax raped at least one other woman after he attacked her. The details of Ms. Watson’s attack are similar to those described by Dr. Vanessa Tyson.

At this time, Ms. Watson is reluctantly coming forward out of a strong sense of civic duty and her belief that those seeking or serving in public office should be of the highest character. She has no interest in becoming a media personality or reliving the trauma that has greatly affected her life. Similarly, she is not seeking any financial damages.

On behalf of our client, we have notified Justin Fairfax through his attorneys that Ms. Watson hopes he will resign from public office.

Fairfax released his own statement following the statement from Watson’s lawyers:

I deny this latest unsubstantiated allegation. It is demonstrably false. I have never forced myself on anyone ever.

I demand a full investigation into these unsubstantiated and false allegations. Such an investigation will confirm my account because I am telling the truth.

I will clear my good name and I have nothing to hide. I have passed two full field background checks by the FBI and run for office in two highly-contested elections with nothing like this being raised before.

It is obvious that a vicious and coordinated smear campaign is being orchestrated against me.

I will not resign.

This comes days after Dr. Vanessa Tyson accused Fairfax of sexual assault at the 2004 Democratic National Convention, where they both worked. According to a statement by Tyson, she says what began as “consensual kissing” turned into a sexual assault.

Fairfax said he remembered a “consensual encounter” with Tyson, but said reading her account was “painful” and that he had “never done anything like what she suggests.”

Former Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe called for Fairfax to resign in a tweet, saying, “It is clear to me that he can no longer effectively serve the people of Virginia as Lieutenant Governor.”

lol. after terry mcauliff, having a rapist or a racist in the governor's mansion would be an improvement.

Not to mention he was quick on the trigger to say “Northam must go”.

Gee, what’s changed that standard AG?

RE: 2nd Allegation Made Against VA Lt. Gov.
I am a Virginian. I didn't vote for any of these clowns.

As for the Gov and the AG, I really don't care what they did 30+ years ago. Now for what they have done recently, well then, off with their heads!

Our legal system declares that one is innocent till proven guilty. So the Lt. Gov. can stay until such time that the truth is determined. Then off with his head!

But seriously only Fairfax has a real legal problem and time and hopefully some facts will determine his fate. As for Northam and Herring the term "blackface" will dog the rest of their lives and that shame, for ones in the political world, is enough for me.

Yea, so

Another shoe likely drops on Herring. Soon. Chronic blackface I guess (?).
I mean, who wasn’t a fan of rapper Kurtis Blow in 1980?!?

Accuser #2 on alleged rapist Fairfax that came forward apparently wasn’t expected accuser #2. So now we’re up to three. Nothing to see here.

This is only going to get much deeper. The frenzy that it’s already started has only started.

Restocked the pop secret today.

And I have one question:

WTF were the republican opposition research people doing instead of finding this all out before the election? Dropping this information in October before the election, as opposed to January over a year later, would almost certainly have changed the results.

These figured to be close elections in a major swing state, and as such should have gotten their full attention. Are they idiots, or merely incompetent? The revelations regarding the Northam yearbook supposedly came from med school classmates who were anti-abortion and reacted to his statements regarding late (very late) term abortions. Well, let's see, I'm guessing they were anti-abortion before the election, and I'm guessing Northam was pretty clearly pro-abortion before the election. So why in the world did this not come to light then.

Republicans were asleep at the wheel. Once again, they show their inability to play politics. And when they're the only thing protecting me from the democrats who are becoming increasingly socialistic, I am not willing to accept that level of incompetence.

Northam ran as a moderate (like McAulliffe, Warner, and Estrogen Kaine) to win. While most figured he'd be as liberal as he could get away with, there is nothing in the man's history that would have suggested he would end up being this radical. He was running against an establishment GOP milquetoast (Ed Gillespie) that brought nobody to the polls other than the straight ticket republican types that vote every election and Northam didn't seem so bad that he'd bring opposition to the polls either. For Northam, it wasn't difficult to get his people to the polls... just "Orange Man Bad".

That said, none of this excuses the sheer incompetence and the fact that this yearbook was of no issue. What's worse is we were going through Roy Moore yearbooks and fake signatures at the same time.

I imagine Democrats are going to ramp up their book burning phase. Huck Finn was among the first. Next they go after yearbooks that Democrats are in!

I beg to differ. He had a D after his name. That should be enough to confirm that he would end up being this radical.

Exactly. Democrats simply play the game of electoral politics better than republicans. And we are doomed unless republicans pick up their game.

I'd also be curious to see the 4 yrs of books from undergrad at VMI. I don't think you simply stumble into dressing in blackface (or a full-dress robe and hat, he never said which was him) as a 25YO doctor.

My guess, is, as far as the R oppo research, it hadn't really been done much prior. Roy Moore deal I guess, other than that I don't recall much of anyone doing deep dives into decades old yearbooks and such. Police records, bankruptcy's, shady business stuff (occasionally, not always), yes. HS yearbooks? Not very common I don't think. Going forward? It'll be where they start, not a last gasp afterthought.

The R's saw what mischief and mayhem they could potentially sow when the Kavanaugh smear attempt looked like it may actually work. Someone decided to take a look, and *poof* there it was.

Turning into a game of survivor. Each of the 3 wants the others out of office so the Democrats will keep them in the job.

Huck Finn guy was either a Teacher or Admin at my middle school when I went there. That's how long this stupidity has been going on.

that's a shame....I now have pops reading Twain....they're both heroes in my book....

I guess the talking points distributed to the left are to not talk at all. Hope the Dems KKKers, rapists and anti-semites get out of the news.
