I will never understand Bowen / Norvell's scheduling philosophy. The Simpletons simply scream "quit *****'n and show up!" Well, that's the problem. People don't show up to garbage games and frankly I don't think whatever our average attendance was last year is sustainable financially. It's also incredibly unfun to go to games where the stadium is 70% empty (i.e. it's a negatively compounding problem).

Yes, I know schedules are made years in advance but I just flat out do NOT believe this is the best we could do. Frankly, I think we have people in charge of scheduling that are a little bit conflicted in that they get large financial bonuses based on number of wins and /or (any) bowl game appearance. I would gladly trade the Birmingham Bowl for better teams in the Liberty Bowl.

Job security definitely plays a part so does the thought of winning teams garner better attendance. There needs to be a better balance.

The OOC games aren't the games that are 70% empty, to whichever person said that upthread. Those games are always decently attended, provided the weather isn't atrocious, and they're early in the season, so that's mostly the case.

The real problem is that half of you idiots don't bother showing up for freaking conference games in November because it's cold.

Or it's two days before Halloween. Or there's a Grizz preseason game that night. Or any other myriad of excuses you weak ass people come up with.

Just show up.

No one gives a single sh*t about Southern Miss here. Just because we played them a lot does not mean we should going forward. Frankly I'm glad to get away from Conference USA and leave them behind.

Southern Miss does us no good in recruiting, certainly not as good as the other Sun Belt markets (not that I agree with that mindset entirely, but going to Hattiesburg give us sh*t all).
Southern Miss does us no good in quality wins.
Southern Miss can certainly be a loss.
Southern Miss does not travel.
We don't travel down there.

I'm already looking at flights to Philly in October. Knocking another city/stadium off the travel bucket list this year.

Yup, Southern Illinois outdrew all of our conference games in 2017. Bowling Green and SEMO outdrew all of our conference games in 2016, Kansas (P5 member) everyone clamors for, was lower than those two.

I'd put all our home games in Sept and Oct
