RE: Signing day 2019
Our season success depends on the health of John Wassink. I think by default should be the starting QB. Eelby awareness in the pocket is putrid. I hope he redshirts. In my mind this is a 9 win team.

Eleby showed good awareness of the pocket, mobility, and you could see him going through his reads. His problem was his unwillingness to throw it away or go into Brett Favre mode—that feeling that he had to make the right play every play, rather than living to the next down. That pressure should be much less next season, he just sounds very competitive.

Imagine NIU down there at eighth, they are never going to win a game again!

Right now WMU has third class, basically tied with Miami in 2nd. Our recruits have the second highest average ranking. Toledo has a great class.

Nothing embarrassing here, we have a good class now, and now we need to develop them.

Yes, but even though WMU AD and people up top will have you believe otherwise...Lester and co. hasn’t shown that they can out coach the other sideline. He needs to have more talent to win football games. He beats bad teams and get blown out by good teams. That’s coaching, that’s preparation. So yes...more talent and having better players matters when you have the staff that we have. I hope they take a step forward this year with the coaching changes but I’m not holding my breath.

DE - Fayad (JR)

I don't think we're in as bad a shape as you all think, we've got four really talented freshman, making for a 10-man rotation right now, plus some linebackers who drop down. We just need more productions. If the freshman pan out, we should be fine. Next season, we return 8 of the 10-man rotation.

As for offensive line, next season we return 8 of our 10-man two-deep, and we signed four freshman.

Next year, we'll need a good defensive line class. One great grad transfer on the defensive line would be nice, but if he's not a step above what we have right now, we don't need the depth.

I completely agree. I kept saying that most of last season. The defensive line wasn't all that bad and with another year of seasoning they will be better. I am way more worried about the defensive backfield.

No pass rush = poor secondary stats.

They did rush the passer. Not all the time but who does. They got a fair amount of pressure on opposing quarterbacks and they were even better at stuffing the run game.

They were so great at it, their D coordinator got fired and an opposing QB went 18-18 in the bowl game.

To be fair, the bowl game was nationally televised. We should have known it would be a blow out with the opposing QB going 18 of 18.

You didn't watch Terrill his FR year? He'd be first to tell you he stunk. What percentage of FR QBs shine? This isn't Bama.
