Opening day is getting closer.
I am still almost completely in the dark as to where we will be, especially at OL.
The Spring game has been completely useless as a predictor for a number of years.
I am cautiously optimistic, as we now have FBS caliber coaches who know what schemes work at FBS, and more importantly, have experience assessing FBS talent.
Realistically, with the daunting schedule, a winning season and a bowl may not be in the cards, but I will consider the season a success if:
1. We avoid blowout losses to non P5s like the one to Liberty. As noted above, that was totally unacceptable. Indeed the most unacceptable game in our history, IMHO.
2. We show substantial improvement at OL and DB from past seasons.
3. We develop a QB(s) progressively, instead of having to make panic moves in reaction to circumstances.
Building the program in a calculated methodical way will serve us well in the long term.
