Wrong. A loss to Houston will put yall in the next three out. The fact that yall managed to get ranked at all despite the ECU loss is a testament to your brand. UC gets the benefit of the doubt where as teams like UH and UCF haven't earned that yet (though this year is helping Houston's cause for future seasons). A two win week the following week will likely push yall back in the top 25 depending on what happens in front of you. Now if yall lose at Memphis and then at Houston this week, then yes, you may not see the top 25 again.

If can somehow win both games (very unlikely, I don’t expect us to win @houston ), we’d probably be top 15 again.

But before we even think about Houston we have try and beat a fiesty Memphis team who will be coming off back to back losses.

Uc has never shot well in that big ass arena.

Admittedly @Memphis is a much stiffer task than hosting the Tigers this year (Very glad UH didn't have to make that trip this year) but I wouldn't get too caught up on whether or not yall drop out of the rankings next week. Seeding and final rankings are really all that matter, though I do realize the week to week rankings are still nice to sell casual fans and recruits on.

I 100% expect Houston to win the league.

The schedule just breaks out better for them.

Both teams last 9 games end with 5 road games and 4 home games

Uc has:
@memphis
@uconn
@houston
@ucf
@SMU

Houston has:
@ucf
@UC
@ECU
@Tulane
@uconn

Then uc has :
WSU
UCF
Houston
Memphis

Houston has:
Cincinnati
Smu
South Florida
UCF

From a perspective 100% you should win, Houston has @ecu, @tulane, and then SMU at home.

Uc I don’t has a single game that you can say is a for sure win. Maybe WSU and Memphis at home but both are sneaky enough to get you.

I think Houston ends up winning the league by losing just 1 more game, maybe 2 if UCF gets hot.

Whereas I think uc loses any where from 2-5 games in the league

It’s insane how identical UC and Houston are on paper.

When teams are this close, you always give it to the home team.

Congrats to Cincy for getting back in. Congrats for Houston for knocking on the door of the Top 10.

Not sure which would be better for the league, Cincy winning and staying in or Houston winning and cracking the Top 10, but knocking Cincy out.

If the two are going to split the series I think it bodes better for the away team to win each. Cinci wins this one and jumps into the top 20 (yes assuming they also beat Memphis). Both teams in the top 15 when the rematch occurs the final weekend with Houston getting a top 15 road win to push them back near the top 10 going into the conference tourney. Cinci stays in around #20.

Seems plausible to me.

Q1 road wins are huge and both are lacking in that area.

Thing is... if both teams stay top 30 in NET, it won’t matter.

If we win at home it’s tier 1 win and if they win at home it’s a tier 1 win.

True. I guess "perception" wise, it would be nice to have both teams ranked though.

I can hear the committee saying neither team has any Q1 road wins. Technically they're the same (both Q1 wins), but perception wise I think the road wins would help each team more. Plus it gives Cinci some cushion in the Top 25 going forward.

UC is ranked because they are a top 25 caliber team. They are pretty much where they should be when you look at the objective metrics.

We had Ian Eagle and Jim Sparnakel in Wichita. Not bad for a game involving a lower division team.

Didn't say they weren't. Just that most teams in the conference wouldn't crack the top 25 with those metrics.

My point is that is just objectively wrong. If you're top 25 in 3 of the big 4 computer metrics and are 19-3 you're likely going to crack the top 25.
