They pretty much only show up to get on TV.03-banghead I agree there needs to be more marketing, but the students would rather watch on computer or phone then actually come to games.

You know what, maybe they should bring the donor thing back. Except THIS time lets make it a student section. Hear me out on this. You could keep the tables, serve food and alcoholic beverages like before except catered to students. It would be like the corner bars at Jacobs Field. Those are wildly popular with millennials in Cleveland and some of the first “seats” to go at a Tribe game. They could be at the game, get inexpensive drinks and socialize.

I think the University might get into some difficulty attracting students to (seniors only of course) basketball games with alcoholic beverages. If they do I’ll set up a business to produce the fake IDs though.

Good point. Of course the last time I was at Dix was 1986.

Could be wrong, but I think the rule is you cannot serve alcohol at an on-campus venue.

I think that rule has "softened".I know they sell beer throughout the UD Arena for Dayton basketball games. I know the chair back seats at MACC have access to beer wine at pregame buffet on 2nd floor and you can bring the beer/wine to your seat in plastic (non glass). Maybe a "happy hour hoops" type promotions could draw some students (and Alums!) to the game?

Is that because it was "given" to certain people? As opposed to sold to them?

At UD it is sold at specific beer windows- bud/bud light. I think it was $5 last year-at KSU it is part of the ticket I was offered to use by a season ticket/chairback seat+ I did not pay for the beer(s)- I assume the ticket price reflected the cost of beer and buffet.
