FOUR EXTRA STOPS
As we sit here disucssing how bad our defense is...and it's histroically bad. What exactly are we talking about?

We average 79.7 ppg on offense in CAA play and give up 83.2 ppg.

How different would our season look if we could just get an extra two stops per half that we are giving up now? Stop just one more 3 pointer and one more two pointer per half each game(10 points avg.) and our defensive ppg would drop to 73.2 ppg. That would put us in the middle of the pack defensively in the CAA.

We would have a top 3-4 record in the CAA with those extra four stops per game. Are you telling me we can't change SOMETHING to get four more stops in a game?

I like your content man. I really do. But this didn't need an additional thread.

In addition, you question seems rhetorical.

It really does need an extra thread. It focuses on actually how little is needed to get where we need to be instead of focusing on how bad we are or what scheme could make the difference. Getting four extra stops seems a lot more realistic then criticizing everything we are doing.

I actuually thought it was a more positive way to look at our defense.

Not sure you are capable of anything positive or close to it when it comes to the current coach at UNCW.

For the record I like every coach at UNCW while here and after they leave excluding Keatts who is just a total piece of work.

Whatever the doctor prescribed... some of us need some.

Love him or not, the Mullet is often one of our most unbiased posters without the blinders.

That meme was pretty funny in this situation though.

You make it sound too easy. KenPom rates each team in points per game relative to average. It is not their point differential per game. It factors in SOS. Mississippi State is 25th at +18.87, so they would be the bottom team ranked if you think of it as a poll. 10 points worse is +8.87. Yale in 79th is +8.88. Would it be easy for Yale to improve to as good as Mississippi State? Making a CAA comparison, William & Mary in fourth is 9.03 better than Elon in last. It's like saying it's easy for an MLB team to get 1 more hit (or even 0.5 more) per game when the difference between most and fewest hits per game last year was 1.48.
