RE: 2020 Football Recruiting Thread
Cool to see that he is going to UT. They sell beer at the stadium Tampa, and I now have my wallet with me all the time...

Watching the video of him - the first thing I thought was - he plays exactly like a kid from my high school did. His name is Jordan Kovacs, and he did all right as a walk-on at Michigan and then had a couple seasons in the NFL. Same size, same hitting ability and more importantly - knows where to attack, has a nose for the football and anticipates very well. Kovacs was going to be a walk-on at Toledo, then got an opportunity to walk on at Michigan, where his dad was also a walk-on for the Wolverines.

Thanks Moto...I just sent that video to Dylan. I forgot about Kovacs...he was a good player at UM. Dylan is trying to train as much as he can and has had to get creative with gyms being closed. We’ve come up with some pretty good workouts at home. He’s working hard and looking forward to the opportunity. Hoping we have football this fall. If so, I’ll definitely be there for the home opener. We’ll grab a beer!

Great - look forward to it. Will have been 15 years since the night of the GMAC bowl when the infamous "empty wallet" occurred. I went to that game with over $100 in my wallet, and I still can't figure out where I spent it before the game... Good thing I knew a guy with a backpack full of brews...

So - pregame beers will be plentiful and on the house.

Possibly...but I remember being with Kisor and scooping up beads off the street to take out on my boat - for, well - some women will lift up articles of clothing for beads if you can believe it!! I still have a box in my basement that I sent home via UPS the day after the parade - filled with beads.

Still remember that as being the first time I saw the Jambulance - sitting in the parking lot of the hotel after being washed and preened for the parade. Looked great and was the hit of the parade.

Once was at a wedding reception that Jordan Kovacs was also at. He left when they started playing Hang on Sloopy LOL.

Cavon Butler out of Whitmer just announced that he is transferring from UK. Would be shocked if he ended up anywhere by UT or BGSU.

Riley Keller is at bg, so it would not surprise me to see Butler end up in Wood county... Loeffler is going after the local kids hard... We should NEVER EVER be out recruited by bg for the local kids at any sport... 05-nono

Marquise Moore is either a step-brother or cousin of Butler's so it's not as if there is no connection...and he was very seriously considering UT down to signing day last year (had their hat at the table with UK and MSU).

Maybe he wants to play in a real stadium that isn't falling down.

Marquise Moore, great kid who was a teammate with my son Nick at Whitmer along with Storm Norton and Jack Linch ...

I remember Chris Wormley (Pittsburgh Steeler and ex UM lineman) telling me that the Rockets recruited him hard and that Toledo was the only MAC program he would ever consider playing for, but he was Michigan all the way, even as a kid...

Whats up with all the local kids transferring out of UK? Just seems like a lot passed us up in the recruiting process for UK, then a year or two later they want out.

It's a running joke on the UC boards. UK gets a ton of early Ohio commits every year with Vince Marrow selling the snake oil, then everyone realizes they committed to Kentucky, and will go .500 or below every year, and they decommit and go to a better situation or transfer out after a year. Someone pulled numbers last year, and something like 70% of the Ohio players who commit to Kentucky end up playing at another school by the end of the sophomore year.

JUCO LB Cyrille Mbah from College of Dupage tweeted that he is committing to UT. 6'2 230#. I don't see any other offers.
