I wonder if something happened with him academically or if he has already left the team? I was very excited about him at the jack LB position.

Were you at the signing event? If so, did Clark talk about any signees beyond those who signed in Decembers early period?

Yes and no he did not. He referred to the commitments that were not discussed as “August signees.”

RE: Signing day thread
Some other random stuff I remember:

Clark seemed to be very excited about JUCO Matthew Trehern. I’m penciling him in as a starter at guard with us losing Cook and Johnson.
Jayme Simmons is already on campus and they immediately took care of a nagging injury (played his Senior season with a torn labrum)
Signee Jammal Abrams was in attendance
Suggested we would be seeing Damien Miller’s brother soon (Damon Miller); I’m guessing this summer
Said Rashard Revels (who isn’t here yet) will ply STAR
Swoopes will start out at CB
Tony Fair is here and they are trying to get him in shape
Bryson Lucero ended the year as IMG’s starting QB (beat out a guy that signed with LSU)

Thank you for sharing that. It helps build anticipation for a team that will have more first time starters than returning starters.

If Trehern can own one of the interior OL positions, then the most significant mystery positions for 2019 seem to be Jack LB, WR (hard to anticipate what depth of talent we have there), defensive end, safety and the second offensive tackle. I think Fair will become the nose tackle we were desperately needing to run this defense. Im most Concerned about who on this roster will be able to bring consistent defensive pressure on opposing QBs this year. Particularly when we travel to North Texas

Trehern may be an OT. I need to look, but I think he has played it before.

You aren’t wrong but he is likely to play inside for us. He’s versatile, which is nice. Ragland or Nuss could go down or Simmons could not be ready and he can slide over.

Any reason why Jordan Smith and Markus Grossman wasn't left off?

Shed any light on early enrollees?

Anything about the other signees? Penn? Ect?

Luc, the guys who were not on the sheet released at Iron City can't be discussed by anyone connected with the program due to NCAA recruiting rules. It's ok for media or fans to talk about them, but we're getting little local media coverage on our recruiting. This leads to threads like this.
