Jammal Abrams, Markus Grossman, Kevin Penn, Rashard Revels, Will Rykard, Larry Smith, Keondre Swoopes, & Alex Wright aren’t here yet.

I don’t know about Jayme Simmons and Jordan Smith. I’m guessing yes?

Grossman tweeted he was a jan enrollee before signing

Unless something changed in the past week he isn’t here yet. I’m assuming he’ll be here in May/July.

Thanks.

That’s what I was thinking, plus Jakoby Jones. I say those 3 depending on where things stand with Jerome Robinson.

I’m dropping Mitchell from the list as if he was here last fall, should be counted to 2018. puts us at 23.

Just in case somebody wondered, former commit CB Michael Campbell committed to a Juco yesterday.

GT, Miss State, UNC

Probably Miss state. That’s what instate recruits who don’t intend on playing do when they want to go P5.

Miss. St and Georgia Tech are the two he is choosing between. Most people think it will be GT, but money talks so prob Miss St.

Depends on what site you use, but Lockhart is ranked higher than 3/4 of the class now.

What I thought when he scheduled that visit. Well, there he goes.

At least he didn't put us in a bind by de-committing late. Matter of fact, I hope we get some last minute flips our own self. 04-rock

It's a business, just make sure you are being honest about your intentions. That goes for recruits and recruiters.

That’s for dang sure. Still haven’t gotten an answer on whether Blueshirts can play immediately or if it’s technically a redshirt with the scholarship counting for next class. Would the four game rule apply to both? Do Blueshirt options still exist?

Grayshirt:
Quote:A grayshirt player delays enrollment by a semester and joins the team during the spring semester of the following year. This allows the program some flexibility when it comes to the 25 initial scholarship players allowed each year by the NCAA.

Let’s say the player signs now and doesn’t enroll until January 2020. He may count against the class of 2019—if, say, a player didn’t qualify academically and the team only wound up using 24 initial counters—or he may count against the class of 2020. This also means the player’s eligibility clock doesn’t begin ticking until 2020.

Blueshirt:
Quote:The blueshirt is a lesser-known option that coaches have used lately to help dig their programs out of scholarship holes (usually left by predecessors). When a program needs to take more than 25 players to get its numbers closer to the 85-scholarship maximum, blueshirts often are the only option.

So what is a blueshirt? In NCAA parlance, it’s a non-recruited player. The schools added this classification in case a team had 25 incoming scholarship freshmen and a surefire contributor just came in off the street as a walk-on. It allows the school to place that player on scholarship when practice begins without him counting against the 25.

Couple of things:
When making a post, maybe take a moment to ask yourself what sort of discourse do you want to create by referring to your fellow posters as "idiots" before choosing to do so.

This is a thread about signing day, it's not really the proper place to be comparing football and basketball programs. It's a very good thread to discuss who we think will be signing tomorrow and your thoughts on the existing and potential signees.

RE: Signing day thread
There goes the signing day thread, y’all. LOL. Only supposed to Derail basketball threads.

Anyhow, my main question on Blueshirts has always been would they be able to play immediately? I kind of known how the rest of it works.

As far as players getting mixed signals on what positions they’ll play, I’ve tried to always list guys like that on offense or capable of playing both ways as ATH. If they can play LB or DE, I go LB/DE. If they can play anywhere on the DL, then it’s DL. I guess I should list Kevin Penn as an ATH, Can play on either line. Haha.

I know Boobie Whitlow got the impression from somebody he’d be playing WR or DB at UAB, then he signs with AU and is suddenly starting at RB. Since that came from himself, we listed him as ATH last recruiting cycle.

Blueshirts can play immediately. As a practical matter though, you've probably cheated if they do. Coaches are not supposed to have any substantive contact with a blueshirt before the start of fall practice, so he wouldnt be working out with the team, or having his workouts directed by the team, he wouldn't have a copy of the playbook to be studying, he would not have been on any official visits where he would have had everything explained to him.

Now people do bend these rules or course, but if you are playing by the rules then it would be very hard for a player to make up 5-6 months of direction from the strength and conditioning staff and position coaches that a "normal" recruit would have access too.

Commit DE Jerome Robinson visited Kansas this weekend. This is why I start questioning pledges when kids go missing on social media. Most of the time, recruits remain engaged on who they make a commitment too. Twitter account went dead a few days before the early signing day. Happened with Duke and Lockhart. Then Lockhart, Campbell, M. Williams all start posting Juco and FCS offers and I knew what was coming. Except for Lockhart blowing up.

Marcus Harris visited KU, too.

That reminds me of how UAB got Dan Burks. He was an AU legacy since his dad played there, but the AU coach told him he would have to play defense. Dan wound up at RB for UAB, and his dad was at almost every practice.

At least we are recruiting players that other programs want. It sucks when it happens, but it’s going to happen. You are right though, the social media is normal a good indicator of things to come.
