For conference games only (8 games so far), Toledo is .... First in 3 point FG %. Yep, 1st. Ohio is 3rd, CMU 4th, UB 8th.
UT is 2nd in overall FG%.

Yes, that is a shocking stat. The flip side is that we have the fewest three-point attempts in the conference, whether you look at conference games only or overall. If we're really the best three-point shooting team in the conference, then we have a horribly designed offense that doesn't get us many looks. I think the reality, though, is that our percentage is so high because we are selective about the outside shots that we take. We don't have anyone chucking them up from 35 feet like Hudson or from 26 feet like BG's McMillen or taking step-back threes off the dribble like Dickerson. Most of our threes are on wide open shots from the corner. That explains both why we take so few and why we make such a high percentage.
I propose that a part of our good 3 point shooting percentage might reflect skewing of the competition so far. MAC has 3 outstanding teams IMO and we have only played Central, which I see as a team which focuses on offense and is usually not a good defensive team. Lets see how our 3 point shooters do against Buffalo and Ohio defenses.
