I thank the good goodies every day for HATING politics...

It's not just limited to politics SF. It permeates the corporate ladder now as well.

You know you are in a precarious and unforgiving system when HR never puts a page in employment file about your accomplishments, but does file every complaint about you that they ever received. And at most corporations now that is HR policy. They want to be able to fire you for cause but at a time convenient to them. What they don't want in your file is anything that illustrates your effectiveness, your congeniality, your esprit de corps, or others who appreciate your general character. Those cause confusion in court about claims to the contrary.

So, therefore a termination with cause of any kind, even fabricated, follows the individual around forever afterwards. It's wrong. It's an immoral practice. And it needs to stop. But it is now SOP in HR and not just for corporations and politics, but in government positions (local, state or federal), in non profits, education, or unless you are self employed, just about everywhere.

I've known people who were victimized by it and have spent time trying to help them rebuild their "paper" character so that it matches their real one.

Now in this case, you have a dweeb caught red handed in a photo, who basically admitted he had done it by virtue of the apology, now recanting. He should be rightfully ruined in the eyes of the public. Not just for the black faced / Klan photo prank from his mid 20's, but absolutely for now whizzing on his constituents and then telling them it was just rain. For that he deserves to be run out of office on a rail! Hell, let's throw in tar and feathers too. It's appropriate. Tar for the black face, feathers for the Klan!

Buh bye Ralphie. Bet your recent behavior would most certainly deserve a negative ruling from the current VMI honor council, over which you once resided. Hypocritical , self-serving, infanticidal prick. Reap what you sow, arseclown.

Now, I was 20 years old many many decades ago, but I can assure you it wouldn't take me 24 hours, nor 24 minutes, nor 2.4 minutes, but less than 2.4 seconds to say without a doubt if that was I in the photo or not.

Having said that, and in the interest of full disclosure, I believe it was around 1974 or so that I did dress up for a Halloween party as a pimp, sans the black face. Those high-heeled multi-colored shoes rocked! 03-lmfao

Did you wear those two toned platforms with a polyester shirt done in a print of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, while sporting lamb-chop sideburns? If so you might have been one of my younger first cousins. They always chided me for wearing khakis with a light blue cotton shirt. I still think that looked better than a polyester navy leisure suit with flower printed puffed sleeve shirt. That was one hideous era for men's clothes!

Lemme tell ya, I was decked out from top to bottom.

I walked into a shop in a tough part of town famous for selling, shall we say, clothes for those who lived in the hood. Amazingly, there was a white dude working there so I approached him and quietly whispered that I needed an outfit for a party, and the "theme" I had in mind.

With that he shouts, "LeRoy, get over here, this guy wants to dress like a pimp!".

I left with the shoes, a pair of huge bell-bottomed polyester pants, polyester shirt AND polyester jacket, and the finest pimp hat they had in the place. They tossed in a few fake gold rings and a neckless. The walking cane, which converted into a pool cue, set me back $10. LOL

My girlfriend did the hooker routine. Suffice it say I got plenty of offers for her.

K.

But did you make your $10 back? 07-coffee3

Since none of the usual suspects will show up to defend him I would suspect they are ignoring this on the MSM. No talking points yet? Maybe they realize they look foolish trying, but that never stopped them before.

For some people, it’s just not news unless there’s a way to make the Other Side be the bad guy. And so far, with Northam, they haven’t found a way to do that. So: silence.

At the same time, even the MSM can’t completely ignore a story like this. Plus, we’re now in an age when non-MSM media can break stories on their own. Which is exactly what happened in this case. There must be some kind of response. And so far, the overall response seems to be a perfunctory call for resignation, but without all the emotional spasms and hysterics that you’d see if Northam was a Republican.

I have a hunch that Northam’s position will become more untenable as this goes on. You never know which rock or pebble will trigger the avalanche, but at some point I believe his own supporters will tell him he has to go and will turn against him if he doesn’t. But we’ll see.

Every democrat who has announced should be asked for their position on this. The republicans should start running ads saying "They still stand with CoonMan", and list every democrat who has not emphatically denounced him and called for his resignation.

https://www.bostonherald.com/2019/02/02/...ious-dems/

"Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam’s political career is about to be aborted, although presumably the cracker Democrat is being “kept comfortable” in his final moments as the party elders hold “discussions” about the “tragic and difficult circumstances” in which he finds himself....

For example, after Northam’s victory in 2017, Sen. Kamala Harris had congratulated her dear friend by name “for showing that Virginia won’t stand for hatred and bigotry.”

That was then, this is now, 14 months later — “the stains of racism should have no place in the halls of government,” Willie Brown’s galpal thundered. “The governor of Virginia should step aside.”

I guess Kamala forgot his name.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren found the photo “deeply disturbing” — even more disturbing, apparently, than falsely claiming Native American heritage in order to game the system of racial preferences so revered by the party of Coonman.

Sen. Sherrod Brown, once accused by his estranged wife of “physical violence and (an) abusive nature,” likewise demanded Northam’s immediate removal from office for moral turpitude.

Ex-NY AG Eric Schneiderman, whose Sri Lankan ex-girlfriend said last year that he referred to her as his “brown slave” and slapped her until she called him “Master,” could not be reached for comment. Neither could those other moral titans of Democracy in the Empire State — Anthony “Carlos Danger” Weiner, locked up in the federal pen in Ayer, and ex-Gov. Elliot “Client No. 9” Spitzer.

Their political heir is Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, who used to campaign with Bill Clinton and now that she’s elected says he should have resigned. True to form, this ethical cipher first declaimed of Northam, “I think he needs to apologize.”

Then, at 9:51 Friday night, after realizing that all her fellow would-be presidents were demanding his scalp, Gillibrand jumped on the bandwagon, better late than never:

“Having seen the photo, I believe Gov. Northam should resign.”

It took her until almost 10 last night to see the picture?..."

Despite the fact that he has the nickname "CoonMan" under his photo.
Embattled Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam told at least one fellow Democrat Saturday that he was not in a racist 1984 yearbook photo of two men dressed in blackface and a Ku Klux Klan outfit -- despite admitting he was in the picture a day earlier -- and that he does not intend to resign, a dramatic twist in the face of mounting calls from members of his own party for him to step down
https://www.foxnews.com/politics/northam...-him-to-go

Umm, he obviously got the feedback very quickly that this wasn't one of those things that you can apologize away. So he decided that he'd rather try to defend it another way. How much credibility can any denial have when your original reaction was to admit it?

This is clearly someone who values power above honesty and character.

So is it safe to say Dave Chappelle has no future in politics?

Northam says he has proof that the two men in the photograph are Brett Kavannaugh and Mike Judge.

This whole accusation and denial reminds me a lot of another Democrat that was caught up in a lie that had political consequences -

If Northam resigns, he is replaced by the Lieutenant Governor, who is both African-American and 100% left-wing on all issues. As that reality sinks in, the sort of people who would usually try to give Northam a pass are, instead, going to lead the charge against him. As others have already said, his erstwhile allies are about to perform a late-term abortion on Ralph Northam’s political career.

Discussed on ABC this morning. Everyone piling on. Democrats have started to realize they look stupid defending him as he looks stupid defending himself with the Michael Jackson party story.

They actually asked about impeachment. Don't know how being stupid 35 years ago qualifies for impeachment, but logic never stopped Democrats. It would be funny to see him stay on.
