O/T: This is what all MAC MBB programs hope for
In many respect, when I think of BG, I think of EMU. Both have very nice arena with small crowds not befitting the university or arena.

UB is hot this year and a big draw within the MAC.

BG, somehow. I don't know how, is playing like UB.

And the game and crowd yesterday was fantastic.

A few of us are old enough to remember, Nate "the great' Thurmond, Butch Komives, etc. etc.

Those were the times when our school had George "Ice Man" Gervin.

We all live with the hope that greatness will come back to EMU and as many MAC programs as possible.

Greatness will not be back in Ypsi with this staff. Face the facts.

steve, not to pick nits, but Gervin was several years after Thurmond and Komives (early '60s).

Trivia: In 1963-64 Komives led Major Colleges in scoring. WMU's Manny Newsome was third.

And Ohio U. beat Kentucky and Louisville in NCAA tourney.

Exciting year for MAC.

I know. I lived thru that era. I was speaking of an era of the 60s and 70s.

Fair enough. So did I, obviously.

I do remember Nate and Butch. I believe Nate was with the Warriors and Butch with the Knicks. Correct?

Correct.

Thurmond also played for Bulls and Cavs, Komives Pistons, Braves (now LA Clippers), and Kings (then in Kansas City).

Thurmond is in the Basketball HOF.

I remember Shane Komives. He was pretty good.

New plan.

Hire Earl as HC and have him bring in this kid as his first recruit.
