OT: Michigan State revenue and the Federal Government
So this crazy and sometimes outrageous mess that is currently Michigan St brought to my attention the revenue the school receives.

Federal Government: 433 million

B1G: 52 million

As a second side note we may see some college sports changes by government edict here soon.

The courts have several cases under consideration about student athletes and the NCAA.

There are various federal investigations under different agencies including the dept of education and the justice department looking into all kinds of activities, many that would seem to fall under the NCAA's jurisdiction and which they seem to look the other way on so often universities think everyone else will too.

I point you to the recent report on Michigan State not properly reporting on crimes and other infractions which sights a 'lack of institutional control'.

The A5 may be changing their tune very soon if for nothing other than PR credit as more and more of the shady business of big time college athletics has a legal and political spot light on it.

And that half billion in government funds. Anti-corruption is always big in Congress as long as it isn't about them. Look what Florida did to UCF just a little bit ago. Once this starts it will take on a life of it's own and there are plenty of places to go including the fake classes everyone took and got credit for.

The only thing though is a lot of Senators get a lot of campaign funds from donors who are also big fans/donors of these schools and are voted into office by voters who cheer on these teams every Saturday in the fall.

Yeah but Michigan hates Michigan St (for example) and when the shoe is on the other foot they'll get it right back. People are always for starting this sort of thing when it hurts their rival and forget to look in the mirror to see their own ugly.
