Pew Research: Majorities In Both Parties Want Shift Further RIGHT
Evidence that the alt-left coastal fringe's ideas aren't actually gaining traction with voters, they are just the loudest people in the room?
Quote:Republicans Want Their Party To Move Right — Surprisingly, Democrats Do Too
Moving Right: A new survey of voter attitudes says that a majority of Republicans and those who lean toward that party would like to see their party move farther to the right in its policy stances. That should surprise no one. What's surprising is that Democrats and their usual supporters want the same thing. Is the Democrats' far-left progressive moment over?
The recent Pew Research Center poll of 1,505 people asked a lot of questions, but by far the most intriguing were the ones related to what ideological direction they want their party to take.
"Looking ahead, most Republicans want to see their party move in a more conservative direction," Pew noted. "Nearly six-in-ten Republican and Republican-leaning registered voters (58%) say they want the GOP to move in a more conservative direction, compared with 38% who want it to move in a more moderate direction."
Meanwhile, "Among Democratic and Democratic-leaning registered voters, somewhat more say they want the Democratic Party to move in a more moderate (53%) than more liberal (40%) direction."
RE: Pew Research: Majorities In Both Parties Want Shift Further RIGHT
This doesn't surprise me.
As a people, we tend to want freedom. Due to flaws in human nature we often want those freedoms free from any associated responsibilities.
Years and years of behavior unfettered by individual accountability and responsibility brings about a society that not only is not very attractive but also detrimental to personal freedom.
We can either bring about societal control by increasingly centralized government enforcing rules (the left) or by return to traditional values and personal responsibility (the right).
