I’m sure he will. Losing Boyce when we did was a huge hurdle, as a player of that caliber is likely impossible to replace for UAB on short notice. If we get everybody back and add a few pieces, we could be a really solid, deep team next season.

How long do we keep up with not winning this mediocre league? Or are we blaming money?

We won the regular season 3 years ago and the CUSA tournament 4 years ago. We've won 25% of the important things in men's basketball over 4 years out of 14 teams.
And we are realistically in it this year
The only team in the league that has won more of the important games conference wise in that time span is MTSU

I ask, I plead, please stop shooting 3's Gueye. They're just wasted possessions. So far he's 1-17 in CUSA play.
That Gueye even steps foot beyond the 3 point line when we are on offense is a coaching failure. It's the same set we ran that had Cokely handling the ball beyond the three point line last year and in both cases it's basically our coaching staff saying "I'm not going to put you in a position to be successful, instead lets try playing offense 4v5."
Interesting observation.

Going 1-17 in CUSA games is nothing, once witness one of the better UAB shooter (Vaden) go 1-17 in 1 game.
I do wish Gueye would play inside-out, he is long and move well around the basket. Gueye plays better when he see the ball go in early.

It's not nothing. Any 20% shooter from there doesn't need to be launching shots. It's about playing within yourself and the helping the team win.

I don't have a problem with Gueye jacking it up from 3 a few times a game.
Heck, he & Bryant are about the only consistent players we have right now.

So far he's right at a 20% shooter from 3 for his career. I guess it's ok when we play our OOC of cupcakes but in close games those are crucial wasted possessions. He was 0-3 at MT and we lost by 6. Is it on Gueye for missing 3's? Of course not, it's just poor shot selection and not good basketball. He's certainly not the only player that takes ill-advised shots on this team. We do not have an offensively gifted squad. Shot selection and defense are the difference for us between winning and losing in what looks like a very balanced (mediocre) league.

They don’t recall the many games where he shot lights out, and almost single handly won games for the Blazers. They don’t recall that he tied Andy Kennedy’s record of 41 points in a game on the road, no less. They only want to bring up the negative.
Really...funny? What's funny is while he was using that as an example...which did happen and is a valid example, you, as usual, latch on the "negative" and insert your own narrative that has nothing to do with the discussion at hand
Did you miss where the same poster said "one of our best shooters"? (not negative) His 41 point night, while monumental has no bearing on the point the poster was trying to make.

Not sure of every attempt from the other night, seems like a couple were jacked up when not totally necessary, but we spent way too much time trying to get past their trap.
If you hit some free throws like you should or make some close to the basket layups like you should then a couple of jacked up 3's wouldn't be as costly.
Bottom line is that we only had a couple of players that had a decent game the other night. Need 4 to 5 total to have a chance to win.

Yup. Jalen Perry was 7-29 on the road trip and Bell was feast or famine: 2, 17, and 2 points on the three game swing. Need a little more consistency from two of our more experienced players.

Agree with this, however it was nice to see Perry be more assertive on his shots this past week...even if he wasn't draining them. The first 1/3 of the season it seemed like Perry wouldn't throw up a shot if there was anyone within 10 feet of him.
