lol wow
No, they are going to bolt because they are bleeding money.
There is no way the AAC will have a conference tournament in Nashville in the foreseeable future. Bridgestone Arena is the main host for the SEC.....actually just UK fans.

It was already brought up about Nashville not being a viable option because of the SEC earlier in the thread. I still used it as an example because its neutral, it's centrally located, and the Hitachi fans have been crying about the tournament being in Memphis since the season started.
They have no problems with Dallas hosting every year even though it's not centrally located and will be a home court advantage for SMU in every way except for the Mavericks arena not having the same "sight lines". They get the refs, they get to stay at home, no travel like the other teams, and most importantly they get their fans.
It only matters to them if Memphis is the one getting an advantage, because they hate their guts. Not UCF last year in Orlando, or Uconn in Hartford the year before, because they had to contend with different sight lines which makes it completely neutral.
Do you follow me?
Memphis probably doubles SMU’s average attendance. No one cared about UCF’s home court advantage last year. No one would care about Tulane’s advantage if the tourney were in New Orleans.

That may be what the conversation was about in your head ... but that's not what the actual conversation was about.

Let me see If I understand you. You're saying that SMU, UCF, and Tulane are okay to host the tournament because those schools have poor attendance and won't have any advantage because of it. Hmmmm
Memphis on the other hand, shouldn't be able to host a tournament because their attendance and fan support is so good, that it would be unfair to everyone else.
Ahhh......I get it now. Well that makes all the sense in the world.

And they didn’t and won’t ever host at their home arena.
And you kind of made my point for me. It feels like Memphis is hosting this year. It didn’t feel like UCF hosted last year. It doesn’t feel like SMU is hosting next year.

How many frikken times do I have to explain to you slow-leaks that I get that it's not in the same arena they play in. I GET It!!!!!!!! I've stated it several times.
My argument is that regardless of it not being in the same arena, it's in the same town/city! That's virtually the same thing. Anyone saying it isn't is what's mind blowing.
Let's try this. What if the Pyramid in Memphis was still open. Let's say the Tigers play their home games at the FedExForum during the season. The AAC decides to have the tournament at the Pyramid just across the street from the FedExForum.
Would that FEEL like the Tigers were playing a home game?

yes, and its still bush league
conference tournaments need to be in a neutral SITE and/or TOWN.
You wouldn't know. Your program has only every known conference tournaments in home gyms. UC used to play its conference tourney in MSG in NYC. Heck, even WSU played theirs in what was called Arch Madness in STL. AAC is bush league. I think the A10 even has a neutral site tourney.

I'm glad BC was able to convey the point I was trying to make to you over the last 72 hours.
Conference tourneys should not have any advantages. It's not fair and it's completely midmajor. Pretty simple.
