54 (+20) days since the public laid eyes on Ruth Bader Ginsburg
[Image: 75i0.png]

Quote:It has been 54 days since the public laid eyes on the 85-year-old Supreme Court justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and her absence is prompting calls for proof of life. The last time she was seen was on December 6, 2018, when she heard arguments in person at the Court. Since then, she underwent surgery on December 21 of last year after two cancerous growths from her left lung were discovered and removed. All official statements have been issued by people close to her and meant to assure the public that she is recovering quietly.

However, RBG has missed oral arguments this month for the first time in her 25-year career on the bench, and it is raising anxieties about how well and if she is recovering. It has been reported that the White House is taking steps toward preparing a short list of Supreme Court nominees in the event of Justice Ginsburg's death or departure. Adding even more fuel to the speculation, Fox & Friends "accidentally" showed a memorial graphic that claimed that Ginsburg is dead. The show apologized shortly after and blamed it on a "control room error," but it's worth noting that the graphic even being made and loaded is a disturbing, macabre preparation.

She was scheduled to attend a function called "An Evening with Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg" in Los Angeles on Tuesday evening at the Skirball Cultural Center, but the event was "regrettably canceled" because she is still recuperating from her recent surgery. A second engagement on February 6 with her and philanthropist David Rubenstein in New York City was also canceled.

The reason her absence is so monumental is that if her health has compromised her ability to do her job as a member of the highest court in the United States, her removal will give President Trump his third justice nomination of his first term. This would be an apocalypse to the liberal Democrats, who would be faced with the most conservative Supreme Court in modern history for decades to come. If you thought the Kavanaugh nomination was rough, imagine if Democrats doubled their efforts the third time around.

Could this be why Nancy Pelosi is so defiantly postponing the president's State of the Union address – because it might reveal to the world an empty seat where RBG is supposed to be? Although the justice didn't attend, in protest, President Trump's first State of the Union in 2018 and Supreme Court justice attendance is by no means required, it would be terrible optics as the nation wonders where and how she is.

When is the last time Tony Podesta or Joseph Mifsud have been seen?

She deserves privacy at this stage of her life.

Yeah when she's retired from the bench.

Didn't have a link.

Is that what happened? I've been looking for my thread. I had about 6 different sources I pulled my information from. I would have been glad to edit the thread and add those links. I'm fairly certain I have posted threads in the spin room before without including a link. Did my thread rub someone the wrong way?

Anyway, Thanks for putting the subject back out there. 04-cheers

The main stream media sure ran many articles when Melania was recovering from kidney surgery and had not been seen for a few weeks.

With RBG? Crickets.

Yeah, privacy is fine and all, but she's still a SCOTUS member so needs to show some life in her or retire.

Also, I don't know exactly what type of surgery she had to remove these lung tumors, but I'd assume it'd be a wedge resection or a lobectomy. Typically a couple days in the hospital, even at her age. Hell, we take kidneys out of folks her age and they're back home within a week and walking around in our office at their first post-op visit the following week.

My 73 year old father had a quadruple bypass about the same time as RBG went in for her health problems, and he is almost back to normal. I have concerns about the media's silence on Ginsburg's recovery.

And I agree. She has a lifetime appointment to the highest court in America, so privacy regarding her health is a luxury she gave up 25 years ago.

Clara Peller for SCOTUS? One old bag for another! I doubt either one of them ever got their beef!

If the story for what's happened to RBG is on ice, it is likely because she is too.

She does, once she's no longer a federal employee.

Regardless, is she dead or alive? I'm having some doubts these days.

I'm going to guess she's alive and not coherent. They are probably hoping it will pass.

I'd guess she is alive and struggling with her recovery/ailment. I wish her the best.

The black helicopters tell me she will never return to the SC and they are holding off making the announcement until a day later in Trump's term than when Scalia passed during Obama's so they can say it's too close to the election for Trump to nominate another SC justice.

I don't think they can stall that long unless she actually returns to work.

Trump will simply send a nominee to the Senate if she doesn't show up in a while.

He should just go ahead and do it now. Call their bluff. Make them wheel her ass out pronto.
