I wouldn't go around giving up organs, but I'd love to see it. If I were president. I'd start the tradition. I really would, even if I had to put up with a lot of stupid BS. Would be hard for my successor not to continue.

What’s the problem with the GOB making his speech if you dims have the high ground? Surely you can win with ideas in the court of public opinion. Let him make his speech. According to you he lies all the time so surely he will just bury himself. What are you and Nancy afraid of?

They prefer it when they go unchallenged (see Hillary's fury after Matt Lauer asked her difficult questions) and when the reporters make up facts to challenge the Republicans. Twitter and the SOTU they can't filter. It scares them.

I would need the cheers and the jeers to be present as well. I guess the question is would you do it in the house (which would be equivalent to what they do) or do you do it in the Senate?
