If UK or UL offer Traynor he's not coming too UC.

Can’t see Scrub choosing us over Memphis. He was glowing about Penny.

He mentioned us twice. And he mentioned rebuilding. I guess he was referring to Cumberland leaving. Sounds like we have our sales pitch there. It’s a longshot but I’m glad we have a dog in the fight.

I saw a few posts elsewhere that Uk did offer him, but couldn't find anything official the past week other than Payne came in to see him workout. It's clearly a different career path at Uk as you could easily be recruited over in a moment. Will be interesting to see where he ends up.

The status of Uk offering him as mentioned as a "conditional offer" with some folks saying he wasn't offered definitively. It was a wait and see situation. Anyone seen anything different?

Who can predict what Traynor will do at this point. In the mid-70's UC took a great player, Center Robert Miller, from right under the nose of U of L in their town. It happens; we often never know why a kid chooses a particular school and we're sometimes surprised.

The bigger story to me is that Brannen is aiming high in recruiting Traynor and several other headliners. I'm encouraged by that because one or more blue chip talents will eventually choose UC and begin to raise the recruiting profile higher, especially if they begin to see the style of play we anticipate. Much to be excited about on the hardwood.

Gabe has the shot and play making ability to contribute immediately, though it will probably be a year or two before he starts.

As Billy says, with only 2 2020 scholarships left, it's time to add a big man (or two). Brannen has yet to add a freshman recruit who is over 6'7" in height. It seems like Brannen is willing to play small. But with just Diarra and Vogt as big's for 2020, I'd like to see us add at least one and preferably two more guys who are 6'8"+.

Welcome back Hep/Dan. As to your comment “hopefully Brannen knows what he is doing” if he didn’t UC wouldn’t have let your son/brother walk. If you know so much how come you aren’t the coach?

And glad you are joining the ranks of people who make comments that contribute absolutely nothing to the conversation. Brannen added a 350 ranked player at a position we already have plenty of depth. It definitely looks like a "we are just adding you to get your brother move". Hopefully Brannen sees something that talent evaluators and other major teams don't in Mason. Gabe looks like a nice player, but we shouldn't have to waste a scholarship on his brother to add a guy rated in the 160's.

Hilarious...I have been given -4 rep since I joined in 2009....all by you in last couple of months because I question your constant negativity of the new staff and your hard on for Cronin. Showing your true colors of blue and gold. Welcome back to the board.

Agree. We’ve really already kind of seen it with Harvey, but there will be more to follow eventually, IMO. Especially if we can have a successful season this year as I fully expect. I believe a deep run in the Tournament would put us ahead of schedule, along with a more exciting style of play.

What's most impressive to me is that he's doing all of this without even coaching a single game at UC. The only tape he's showing these kids is of drills he ran at NKU; no highlights of Bearcats games, no live visits where they can see a sold out 53rd, just an idea and a dream.

Imagine if Brannen's words ring true this season; open-floor/NBA-style offense, suffocating man-to-man defense. He'll actually have real evidence to put in front of recruits about what he's building and accomplishing at UC. Then the pipeline will really open up.

Yeah I am excited from what I’ve seen so far. I think we got a good’n! Seems to be high character as well. I’ll wait till I see the team this year before solidifying him, but boy do we have some great coaches in football, men’s and women’s b-ball, and baseball. Great job Mike Bohn!

Exactly, and I believe he is set up to have some decent success his first year, which will only help him on the recruiting trail. Even a Sweet 16 appearance in the tournament would solidify he is on the right path considering UC has failed to get their over the last several years.

There will be a lot of things that Brannen is able to sell incoming recruits and hopefully a successful year one will give him even more ammunition with recruits.

RE: BB Class of 2020
Scrubb to Louisville. We've also offered a couple of Centers who look like projects in the last couple days.

Seems likely we need one non-project for 2020 (who would play backup PF). Offering other projects (and the Kentucky offer rumors) indicates that Traynor is a long shot at this point (since he is a major project).

Eason is the biggest name left and likely has the ability to play immediately, so we could add him and another freshman. If we can't get him, we are likely looking at getting one project and then grabbing a grad transfer in the spring to backup (or start at) PF.

Whats going on with Traynor? Seems like he really doesn't want to be at UC, and just waiting on UL to offer. Glad to see JB opening up other avenues with some other big guys now. Get guys who want to be here.

Feeling really good about Eason, less so about Traynor since I think a UL offer is coming.

Traynor is doing fraternity rush and is hoping the houses in Lexington or Louisville give him a bid..in the meantime he’s doing the ice cream socials at UC and XU, etc to keep options open.

Eason is on campus.

Ive seen the kid over the last 2 summers.Hes a underrated kid even though he's a top 100 player. All he does is produce.Example? He played hs ball with 5 star 2019 kid last year at Federal and had better overall season numbers.Hes a bit undersized as a stretch 4 but he's a 2 year all conference type of kid.Gary Clark like game.

I’d love to land Eason. Would be a very good get in my opinion and continue to show Brannen’s recruiting chops.

Jeremy Brakefield commits to Duke, who UL had been courting for over a year. This might mean UL finally turns to Traynor.
