UNT: Who Should Be the Next OC?
Well, we can't fend off Southern Cal if they offer him the Offensive Coordinator position...

RE: UNT: Harrell Interviewing with USC for OC Position
What would be his reasoning for turning down the opportunity for getting his feet wet in a major P5 coaching position (other than staying close to his dad)?

I hope you meant to write “can’t” cuz if not I’ll start seeing why so many CUSA schools dislike North Texas.

Ha! Yes, that was me typing too fast. My apologies. Fixed it. If they offer him, he is certainly gone. 04-cheers

RE: UNT: Harrell Interviewing with USC for OC Position
Not official yet, but he will be leaving for USC. Someone on the Mean Green board, said he was offered the OC at North Carolina, and Southern Cal. Apparently, he turned down USC's first offer, but they came back with a better one.

Okay guys, who should North Texas target for our now open OC position?

There is a rock solid poster on the Mean Green board that has a 100% accuracy rating when breaking football news. He has never been wrong that I know of.

Fair enough.

OC from Jacksonville St. wouldn’t be a bad look.

Doug Meacham's name seems to be coming up.

I think Tim Albin, the OC at Ohio should get a look. He has been very successful at Ohio. Ohio had a better offense then UNT last season, putting up more yardage and points then the Mean Green. Plus the guy is a native of Oklahoma, so he understands the players and recruiting. Albin makes about $150,000 a year at Ohio. Harrell was making $275,000. I'm sure Albin would get about the same, if not more.

Albin may have the inside track on the Ohio job when Solich retires.

That’s kinda what I was thinking. Solich has been at Ohio for 15 seasons and furthermore, he is 74 years old. If I’m Albin, I’m not going anywhere. Say what you will about the MAC, but Ohio is a solid program and can you imagine the relatively seamless transition the Bobcats would have by simply sliding him to the HC position?

THAN, than the Mean Green.

You're a great poster but that constant error on your part drives me stark, raving, mad. :)

Might have been smarter to go with UNC. If USC doesn't win big next year the entire staff will be fired.

100 percent agree. Not even sure Helton makes it through the whole season at USC if he loses early.

I knew Kingsbury would screw us somehow. I thought it would be Littrell or Harrell going to Texas Tech. Never thought in a million years it would be his fault, but at USC.

would rather lose harrell...littrell makes this team click...probably losing him next year, so i hope they bring in an OC that will be successful and possibly slide into the HC position if successful enough

Littrell will be moving on in a year or two. A successful OC could easily slide into the HC position at UNT, if things are rolling. As things stand now, I think the head job at UNT will be the more attractive job when compared to Ohio. Plus it is closer to Albin's roots. Littrell could go a number of ways, I just see Albin as an opportunity to snatch an underrated OC that could improve our offensive production.
