There are two primary components to being a head coach at the intercollegiate level and the BOTTOM LINE IS SHE IS NOT GETTING ONE OF THEM DONE and hasn't at an acceptable level for the majority of her time at ETSU. 8 seasons, two 20 win teams, and the rest are at best mediocre to AWFUL.
And no, someone who has failed at their job at this level does not deserve to keep it, nor do they deserve to be reassigned within the university either as a professor, or lord help get a Barbie Breedlove type promotion. Let's be honest, she's essentially Barbie minus a temper tantrum in nowhere Mississippi when the bus driver left that dumb B!+c# and her whole team stranded.
Buyout or not, losing at that level is unacceptable and it's not getting any better.

I think Coach E has likely had a profound impact on the lives of most of her players and there is a lot to be said for that. She is the type of person everyone WANTs to be successful. I think she likely is/could be a great counselor, a great life coach or a great motivational speaker. But I really think when it comes to basketball, she is in over her head.

It seems like you have disliked her from the beginning, which is fine. I agree that if she wants to continue as a basketball coach she should do so elsewhere and at a lower level. However, she has earned her doctorate and has taught classes at the university. From an outside perspective, she also seems to be very respected among the athletic department. If she wants to shift her career into more of an academic focus similar to what Dr. Sander did after his retirement, I see no reason why the university wouldn't embrace her in that type of role.

Likely the Woffers are next. They lead G comfortably with 4 minutes to go.

Tremendous win for the Ladies. It's been a tough year. The freshman keep improving and the team finally had all hands on deck, ready to play since Ist of January.

Can't sneak up on Wofford. They saw todays game. Hopefully ladies can play at the level of todays effort and make a game of it.

It was never personal, it just wasn't a good hire based on her numbers at Belmont. Go look at Belmont women's basketball since she left. Her last year at Belmont, they went 18-14. Since then, The Lady Bruins followed it with two back to back losing records, then they went to four straight NCAA tournaments, and haven't won less than 20 games until this year, when they only played 23 and went 18-5.
In short, since Brittney Ezell left Belmont, their program has been infinitely better, and ETSU's has gotten infinitely worse. I get the quote that those who can, do, and those who can't teach, but this doesn't apply here. Coaching is teaching, and the numbers don't lie, she's TERRIBLE, massive upset notwithstanding today.
So all that said, why should she be allowed to retain a position at the university? Because aww shucks she's a nice person? That kinda crap right there is exactly what got ETSU in trouble 20 years ago. Well gee whiz that's ol' Wayne from the car lot, let's har him over here. He's a damn nice un.
It's a business, she sucks, hire someone that wins.

I think they'd be mistaken not to at least have a conversation with Holly Warlick.
Jolette Law checks a whole lot of boxes, Niya Butts, Tasha Butts, Mickie Demoss.
This is just who I would look at, getting a current Division I women's coach is out of the question.
