Dawson's salary at Houston
Dawson's salary at Houston is $200K per FootballScoop.com. Nothing against him personally, but I'm glad Houston took him off our hands. I often hated his play calling.
I hope Hop will elevate Scotty Walden to OC. I believe he will create an exciting offense and the players will play their heart out for him because of his excitement!

Quite a few WR's coming in this recruiting weekend from Texas, so I assume Walden is their main recruiter----and maybe he's tellin' them "wait til you got a load of MY offense"...

Surprised we don't have any RB's coming in this weekend, but with Perkins added as a PWO, plus the kid from G'port, the RB situation looks purty good, actually! 04-cheers

We need someone who can develop a QB. Dawson couldn't do that. Honestly, if you aren't putting up video game numbers in this conference then you ain't fit to be an OC.

We were so one dimensional last year. Teams knew they didn't have to respect our run game and we were going to have to throw every play. I hope they get the offensive line fixed and that will make us much more balanced. Abraham will flourish with a good offensive line and run game.

What about the Cuban Crisis? He was All County three years ago.

His ceiling is low. If we didn't win a championship with Nick Mullens we ain't winning one with this kid. He is serviceable and can manage games at best. At worst, he is a dink and dunk turnover machine with a noodle arm. I'm sure he's a good kid, but he is a D-II talent.

No doubt that fixing the O-line will help things, but sometimes you need your QB to go beyond and single-handedly win games. Abraham is not that guy.

Thanks for saying this (so I didn't have to). Stated perfectly.

Dawson's salary last season at USM was $200k. Dawson interviewed at Marshall last season, which the guy Marshall hired made $210k.

Dawson wanted out of Hattiesburg as much as the fans wanted him out.

I agree. He can win a championship with a good offensive line and run game. He will never play in the NFL, but he can win on the college level.
