House Dems reject 3rd attempt to pay workers
https://townhall.com/tipsheet/guybenson/...n-n2539969

"UPDATE - With 13 Democratic defections this time, Nancy Pelosi's House majority again shot down another Republican effort to get paychecks to these federal workers. The GOP motion would send the Democratic bill back to committee, to be replaced with the following verbiage: "Provide for the payments of salaries for federal employees during the entirety of the lapse in appropriations that began on December 22." The roll call is here. Rep. Liz Cheney is now asking Democrats to stage an "intervention" with Pelosi:..."

RE: House Dems reject 3rd attempt to pay workers
Here's the takeaway - especially the part about independents

Quote:The Hill-HarrisX poll found that 56 percent of voters aware of Trump's proposal believed that the president's offer should be taken as a "good faith" offer to start negotiations over a partial government shutdown that is now in its fifth week. Forty-four percent of respondents said it was not serious offer and that congressional Democrats should reject it. By a margin of 55-45 percent, a majority of independent voters said they believed Trump's proposal was something Democrats should consider to be a starting point.

The Democrat shutdown continues. Do Nothing Nancy’s war on government workers will eventually bite her party in the but. You can only say “no” so many times before it becomes clear to the American people who is really keeping the govrnment shut down.

This shutdown is as bi-partisan as anything can be in DC right now.

However, where the R's can win this war is if they keep proposing things - even if they are ridiculous, it looks like they are trying at least. most people don't care about those little details, they just see a republican effort and Democrat roadblocking.

Perception is reality.

Yes, get all the dems on record.

AOC is already reeling for voting no to opening the government because she prioritizes owning the cons over government workers being paid. Turns out going on record with actual votes isn't as easy as being sassy on twitter.

Didn’t Pelosi send everyone home for another three day weekend?

Yep. Those empathetic Democrats. Wonder when the pictures will come out of their three day weekends?

When do I get to say enough and tell them I don’t want them going home on my dime until they resolve the issue at hand nor do I want them paid. Y’all do know the 21st amendment ensures they get paid at all times right?

Works for us. It’ll only strengthen Trump’s campaign. Ted Cruz will help energize the base showing how the Democrats running against Trump refuse to negotiate.

For those who complain about Republicans not changing the narrative, this is a prime example. The author of the article had no idea they had done this. MSM will not report on things that make Democrats look bad.
