Pantos was spectacular.

That happens when you beat a team who was 12-1. (W&M)

After a rough weekend in Hattiesburg, the Monarchs rebound to stay undefeated in the mid-week games.

RE: 2019 ODU Baseball
Took 2 out of 3 vs UAB over the weekend to improve the conf record to 3-9, 18-13 overall. They take on VCU at the Bud tomorrow at 6:00pm and it's sure to be a tough game. VCU is up to #43 in RPI. (Also get another shot at them next Tuesday in Richmond at 7:00pm at the Diamond)

Next weekend is a conference series vs UTSA (5-7, 13-19) in San Antonio sandwiched in between the VCU games.

RE: 2019 ODU Baseball
I wonder how successful you'd be in screwing with the RPI if you scheduled a bunch of power programs on the road in midweek games but set your rotation so that your ace was pitching most of them against the power school's 3rd or 4th starter? Or would having your 4th throw the Sunday game against a conference opponent be more damaging?

In the early season games, it seems we stuck with the rotation no matter what day it was. I noticed in the UVA game that we threw the bullpen vs them. I'm not sure what Finwood would do if we played P5 games every week during the week.

VCU has a different philosophy with pitching. The starters are only going 3 to 4 innings and on a rare occasion 5. They are on a pitch count and Stifler has stuck with it all year.

I was under the impression that most coaches kept the top of their rotation for the weekend series and threw a fourth starter or long reliever out for the midweek games. Not treating them like de facto exhibitions but not exactly making them a priority either. But I could be (almost certainly am) wrong.

Typically yeah, that's how they do it. Finwood changed up the rotation about a qtr way into the season so it's been tougher to track this season. Started out using Gertner during the mid-week games, but now he's been part of the weekend rotation.

Took down a hot VCU team yesterday. Always good to get a Win over the Rams.

Walk-off walk by pitcher John Wilson who came in to pinch hit

I just want to reiterate what a great job they're doing with the podcast. Finwood and Wentz have a good dynamic and I love how transparent Coach is on the show.
