Rice vs MTSU
Deep roster and unselfish scorers...
I looked at the conference stats today (with and without non conference games included)

We don’t have anyone in the top 15 in individual points scored per game.
We do have I believe at least five kids (maybe six?) in the top 15 in the shooting percentage categories (especially FT and 3PTFG). Between the two sets of rankings I believe we’ve got three FT shooters in one or both top 15s and 4 3PT shooters in a top 15.

We have lots of options and are willing to spread it around. That is going to keep other teams from effectively keying on just one or two guys. And allow us to hopefully stay rested late in games.

I know everyone likes to complain about a lack of true PG but I think Moore has really stepped up behind Ako. I’d even consider letting him start or at least get equal minutes.

I wouldn't. Moore has improved but he still has a ways to go to work on his ball-handling skills. The only roster move I'd consider at this point is possibly putting in Murphy instead of Peterson (Martin deserves to be a starter too but I do like his role off the bench and he ends up getting starters' minutes anyway).

Here's how I rank our 5 freshmen

(1) Mullins
(2) Murphy
(3) QMB
(4) Peterson
(5) Moore

in terms of the freshman, I’d say I’ve been most surprised by QMB. He’s shown a lot more polish inside than I expected. I’d say he’s better than Drone ever was and he’s only a freshman.

Definitely been most disappointed in Peterson. He was perhaps the most heralded of them all out of high school but his shooting had been poor and he’s so dang skinny that I think he’d get pushed around inside.

Moore either needs to become quicker or develop a consistent outside shot. He's a pretty easy scout right now, even if he is very adept at finishing through contact. Teams are always going to sag off of him and force him to make shots.

I'd agree with this second listing. QMB is a more polished and much more nimble and athletic version of Andrew Drone.

The thing I really like is that all five show lots of potential. They’ve already improved pretty dramatically just so far this year.
