Trendon Hankerson
Last week after one of the losses I posted how the lack of an experienced point guard is weakness #1 for this team.
Well, we do have an "inexperienced" one (he's a true freshman) and he came through with a pass that won the game.
I'll give a rare kudo to MM as he put the ball in the kids hands on that final possession.

That was not the play they called lol. It was supposed to go Thorpe (as it should have) but buffalo did a good job denying him. Great job by Hankerson making a play, though.

Lol...Well, kudos to MM for having him on the floor at least!

Hankerson has been impressive, you can tell why the coaching staff felt they had to pull his redshirt, he was ready to contribute.

With the Senior dominated team, he wasn't needed but if they have a chance to make it to one of the tournaments, then you go for it now.

Trendon is impressive and his basketball IQ compared to some of these guys is off the chart. He is quick and helps defend the perimeter a lot better since they took off his redshirt. Is he on scholarship or is he a preferred walk on. His older brother plays for WI Green Bay. He makes some mistakes but is very composed for a freshman. I do not care who starts but I like when Geno, Dante and him are on the floor together.

Agree 87.
In hindsight, if MM knew he was going to pull the redshirt, Hankerson could have had gotten some VERY valuable minutes in those non-con games.

He isn’t on scholarship. He’s playing well but struggling shooting. He should come off the bench like he does. Rod Henry Hayes with Geno and Thorpe is our best lineup. Hayes is going to be a decent defender and reliable 3pt shooter.

I don’t know, I like Henderson because he allows Geno to play off the ball some.
EDIT: No idea who Henderson is, but Hankerosn lets him play off the ball tol

if he's not on scholarship, he's certainly making the case to be given 1. I'm OK with a true fresh struggling with some shooting when he's doing lots of other good. yes, he should continue to come off the bench.

I don’t know if they will have a scholarship for him next year. Monty only has one left I believe. They are in need of a 17-20pt regularly scorer and most likely from the Junior College ranks.

This is key. Geno would be more effective not bringing the ball up often.
As long as Hankerson shoots better than Brian Hall, I'm good with him...
