FIU ends up pulling this one out 78-74. Where are all the Florida guys & gals? The versions of both teams are actually pretty good this year compared to most. Both were a handful at Diddle. Stapleton was only 1-6 from deep, he shot like Klay Thompson vs WKU.

It does raise an important philosophical question: if a basketball game was played in Florida, and no posters are here to comment on it, did it actually happen?

MARKETS!

North Texas is #1?

Weird, last I checked we were tied for #1 with us playing the much tougher schedule.

That was total BS on our student's part after that game and I apologize. I do know how it happened as I sit about 20 feet from where the water bottle was throw. Several ODU players directed the F bomb at the student section after the officials made the correct call in not counting the basket. I have sat in the section near the end of the opposing teams bench since the Haskins Center opened in 70s. I have noticed that in the past few years all teams seem to be engaging in trash talking to fans/students. Do fans yell some outrageous stuff? Yes, but they have always done that and the stuff that was yelled at opposing teams in the past was far worse then today. The difference is that teams in the past just ignored. I yelled stuff in the past too. I didn't get it until my daughter played college sports and I heard stuff that was said toward/about her and her teammates. Sorry to get off topic but I hope UTEP fans and all CUSA fans learn to appreciate the effort of all the athletes. I also would hope that the coaches in CUSA would do a better job of teaching their players to ignore the noise and not engage with fans.

Do you sit in section E? When I lived in El Paso and had season tickets they were located in section B. I liked those seats because they are right next to the student section. We used to have a fun and loud student section. It has died down the past few years. You see a lot of 30-40 year olds sitting there with their 10 year old kids. They treat the student section as if it’s general admission.

They have more wins. Barring a head-to-head meet up they get the nod.

Not so fast, my friend. According to the tie-break guidelines, both teams records are 5-1. It then goes to record against next highest win percentage (ODU). Marshall is 1-0. UNT is 0-0. THEN it goes to all D-1 opponents.

Good grief, quit splitting hairs ... it's not a big deal.

Let them enjoy it while they can and quit being so offended.

From now on, on this day forth, when making proclamations about thy own team vs another with their ranks in standings, thou shalt put a "T" next to thy number when thy is tied upon with another team, thus:

North Texas T1 vs UAB T4.

herdfan139 shall police thine boards to ensure thou holiest rules are followed forthwith'd and hence, and shall press thy holy "report" button upon finding North Texas fans omitting thine T henceforth.

I will say, it would be quite strange for a North Texas fan to omit the "T". I've personally never heard of Norh Exas. Rimshot

Easy, there, Cha Cha. Who is offended? I merely pointed out an error in ther order of the tie-break. If I accidentally misrepresent something, people will correct me. It’s all for better hallway vision. Calm down, friend. Have some dip.

Don't think that's right but nothing would surprise me in this conference. We are both 5-1 in conference which means we are tied for 1st.

I see ODU is still salty about us beating them on their home floor. 05-stirthepot

Of course it wouldn't surprise me if the conference didn't change the rules to favor a Texas school again.

No, we aren't salty. Now stop projecting your own feelings on us and move on already.

We've still got 7-8 games left to be played each before the pods start. I think it's enough to say tied for now without breaking out tiebreaker rules.

Now on to more current and relevant issues: ODU beat the Miners 82-33 last year in Norfolk, giving 7 points for homecourt advantage the line should be about ODU -42 I'd say. I think we can beat that spread.

It probably won’t play out that way this year. I think you’ll have to overcome a double digit deficit to win this one.
