NFL Draft Thread
So which one generates more exposure for the program? NFL draft pick on day 2, winning a bowl game, or NCAA basketball tournament berth?

Sioux Falls and Old Dominion: It’s always fun when an off-the-radar college gets some shine at the NFL draft.

Before Friday, the only NFL draftee in Sioux Falls history was Bryan Hansen, a punter the Saints took in the ninth round of the 1984 draft, 237th overall (Hansen had a nice 15-year career for five teams). But in the third round on Friday, offensive tackle Trey Pipkins went to the Los Angeles Chargers with the 91st overall pick. As Trey Wingo pointed out on ESPN, Sioux Falls had a player go off the board before football factory USC; Trojans offensive tackle Chuma Edoga went with the pick after Pipkins as the first USC player selected.

At least Division II Sioux Falls had one player drafted in its history. Defensive end Oshane Ximines made history when the New York Giants drafted him in the third round. Ximines is the first Old Dominion player ever drafted. ODU receiver Travis Fulgham has a chance to be drafted on Saturday.

Most of the draft is dominated by many familiar college football powers. It’s always fun when some smaller schools crash the party.

Can't say I care for the tone of this article. Kind of a left handed compliment to me. Makes us sound a little pitiful.

Heinicke is likely done. If they keep a 3rd QB it would most likely be younger and cheaper Kyle Allen. I think Heinicke's durability was his downfall. He could not complete either of the 2 regular season games he played in (except for end of half hail mary games). I will say I was vindicated by predicting Ximines was most likely a 3rd round pick after his combine performance. I said he would not fall past the 3rd round. As for Fulgham, I would not be surprised to see him picked in rounds 4-6. Most likely 5th or 6th.

Oh come on.....you were all in no later than round 2 and likely a round 1 pick. Even Mel Kiper said he dropped him after the senior bowl. He was almost a round 4 pick. I consistently said rounds 3 to 5 but likely late round 3 or 4. I took a lot of heat from people on this board for saying that early on. I agree TH is likely out now. I hope TF goes in round 4 or 5 because the $ are a little better. If he goes in round 6 or 7, he is better going as a UDFA.

Im not going back, but you took heat because of saying things like he could be drafted in the 5th. But, everyone can toot their horns if they want!

Heinicke is done in Carolina. I hope someone gives him a chance, but I'm not very confident in it. The teams he played for loved him, but he kept getting hurt and teams are gonna go younger.

There were people on here saying first round and no later than the second round...Mr. BigBlue was spot on, compared to those people.
