Sorta like Carolina/Duke or Texas A&M/Texas or Norte Dame/USC. I get where you're coming from, and take no real offense. . . . just yankin' yer chain a little.

And don't mind my Bobcat Brethren, we're just not used to being in the position we currently find ourselves. Most of us are secretly hoping we don't "tank the rest of the year." That would be soooo Bobcat . . . Hope we're both playing for something in March . . . 04-cheers

Perfect storm in Statesboro today, one team on the road coming off a big win and another team coming off a bad loss at home. GS controlled that game from beginning to end, I thought we were lucky to only be down 5 at half.

Should be an interesting few weeks as the rest of the conference schedule unfolds.

Glad we weren’t the first team in years to go 0fer in conference.

I don’t believe we’ve ever beaten ULL in basketball so don’t look for a streak.

The Cajuns got a big game from Marcus Stroman to beat Troy. Stroman had 21 points and seven assists and got 12 fouls on the three point guards Troy used.

Jordan Varnado is such a great player. He had a career high 33 last night.

Cajuns are 4-3 in the league...but now the road beckons. I hope we aren't as cold Thursday night in Boone as the temperature outside will be. Then it's off to Coastal, who will be a factor now that they are healthy.

Now to see if we can break the 13-game losing streak of the visiting team in the Southern-State series. I don't think we will. I hate State's defensive setup.

2 ways to break 1-3-1 trap zone

1) make lots of 3s. Byington should be familiar with this method. His players love to shoot 3s. Someone is guaranteed to be open to shoot 3s against this zone defense. cant guard everyone on the perimeter with our scheme.
2) creative PG play and active ball movement to sneak passes inside the thick 2nd layer of defense. At the 3rd level, there is only 1 guy guarding the rim.

TXST and Liberty beat us with 3s.
Creighton did the other way.

BTW, in the 60s, Ttech flirted with the idea of changing their name to Texas State, but they loved the Tt logo too much. North Texas also flirted with the name, but then again, WHO CARES?

Because the official name is Texas State Universtiy and has been for 6 years. Because the names of those schools are Texas St - Sul Ross or Texas State - Lamar. They are in the same system but the names weren't changed.

It would be like calling UTA Arlington State.

Okay I'm backing off here. You can enjoy being Texas State regardless of anything I say. As for our name, I preferred "Arlington State," which was ours when we were the largest U in the TAMU system. Ancient (1965) history.

Change of subject, and definitely not relevant to this string, but does anyone at TxState remember a professor named Doctor Princess Zedler? She was (or is) the greatest in the field of childhood development and learning disabilities.

I think the conference regular season winner probably will have 5 losses at a minimum

Looks like I may have been wrong. Where that ULL fan that argued with me about who would win first App b-ball or ULL football?

Richard just got himself tossed in Conway as Coastal is 1:35 away from taking down ULM.

Good night's for the home teams tonight.
