He certainly won the press conference. Really impressed. Did a great job and clearly is a very intelligent guy. Our football program is in good hands.

I loved that the first person to greet him after the press conference was DeKalb Mayor Jerry Smith. Jerry is a huge Huskie fan and committed to improving the relationship between the city and NIU.

Is the press conference on the site where I can replay?

I'm pretty excited to see the offense he installs. I have a feeling we are getting a true QB competition in spring ball.

I always felt like Carey didn't play anyone else because he did not want to be second guessed. Hammock has a fresh start and all will get a shot.

Didn't see the press conference, but ... THIS IS AWESOME!

Mr. Hammock, your table is ready.

There is a lot of talent on the roster and do believe that Hammock and his staff will bring out their best.

I went to a few practices and it was clesrly evident that Childers was the best QB at the time. Didn't translate to outstanding passing games too often but I also didn't want to see anyone QB. Talent just wasn't there or mature enough.

I disagree with your "second guess" comment.

With new staff everyone will be playing for their jobs or at least I hope so. The kid from Indiana is small but has an arm. Should be interesting to see who progresses in spring.

Impressed, I am getting more happy with this pick the more I see and read up on. My ban on going to game as long as Carey as coach will be coming to an end!! Go Huskies!! Is it September yet?? And I agree with someones post about Frazier seeming to be invigorated, I wonder how much his hands were tied in regards to keeping Carey.

Often Carey played the safe guys, not always the best guys. Looking to see how he handles the roster. There were always a few players that should be getting more playing that weren’t.

I've never seen this board so positive. That speaks volumes.

I just hope there is no "Fire Hammock" thread after our first loss.

There will be a transition period and all may not run smooth at first.

That being said, Hammock is a great choice who has a personal connection to NIU and is bringing positivity and renewed hope for the future.
