Kent State vs. Northern Illinois
Saturday starts a big stretch for the good guys. Three straight games against top notch MAC competition. NIU comes to the MAC Center with a 3-1 conference record. Their only setback was against a pretty good CMU squad. KSU will follow that up with home games against a very talented Toledo team and nationally ranked Buffalo.

Northern Illinois' top scorer, 6'0 junior Eugene German, averages 20 points per game, leads the team in steals and is second on the team in assists with 45. He does have 41 turnovers. Turnovers seem to be a problem for NIU. 6'7 senior Levi Bradley and 6'4 Dante Thorpe also average double digits for the Huskies. But the biggest concern for KSU may be 6'9/240 pound senior James Lacey. The big man averages 9 and 7 per night.

Getting two of these next three is big (is that a reasonable expectation?????????). But it starts with this one. NIU is 10-7 and they are NIU. They don't have the same cache as Buffalo or even Toledo.

How do you see the next three unfolding?

Hopefully Gholston can provide a good scouting report on his old HS teammate German.

Note: "The game times for Saturday's men's and women's basketball doubleheader have been changed. The women's game against Central Michigan will tipoff at noon, followed by the men's game with Northern Illinois at 2:30 p.m.

With the strong possibility of an impending storm set to hit on Saturday, the Kent State athletics department has made the decision to move up the times for the safety of fans traveling to and from our games this weekend.

Both games are scheduled to air on ESPN3."

Just fed the huskies and set up the sled, ready to make way to the game. Just hope to be able to return home after the game.

Latest forecast now calls for an O/U of 1000. Knob Creek and Ty Linder for me. And If it pleases the masses I have sky high expectations of enjoyment.

Any idea why Pippen isn’t on the bench and instead in street clothes in the student section? Seems odd even if he is redshirting to not be in warmups on or behind the bench.

The Flashes are on a 7 minute, 19-4 run. Walker playing well and Peterson making an impact on both ends. 13 point lead with 11 minutes left. I love when the varsity game is played before the JV (Virginia @ Duke at 6:00PM).

Frederick isn't playing great. But he is contributing. Maybe he is back from the doghouse.

Big win. I know it's still early, but this gives us the tiebreaker against NIU and this year figures to be a log jam outside of #1 and maybe #2.

Seems like the rotation is continuing to shrink. Duling played 1 minute and Roberts didn't see the court. Fatigue could become a serious concern if we're planning on going with a 7 man rotation.

anti-zip. Over the years I have scratched my head trying to figure out how guys go from starters, to five minute a game guys, to sixteen and back to zero. My frustration is that guys don’t come to understand their role when this happens. Anyway, I hope that doesn’t warrant an apology.

As for today. Big win is right. Guys stepped up, Walker took over and KSU holds serve at home.

The BG loss is looking acceptable. BG did some serious damage today to WMU.

Good win today. Also, thanks to Athletics for changing the game times. I thought that was a bit overkill at first, but I stand corrected. Walker did excellent. I'm glad to see Peterson showing up now. That's 2 strong games from him.

This early in the conference season, and only two teams are better than 3-2.

I was just commenting on how bad they beat them. And the fact that they are 5-0. They are pretty good.
