We can mix it up in this conference. Come March, I think anything is possible!

RE: UCF goes down
I remember interviewing former basketball Coach Moe Iba when he was at Memphis for a story in the TIGER RAG. He was not a great success but he did say something that made sense. If you win all your home games and more than 50% of your away games, we could win the conference champsionship due to some parity in the upper level teams. As long as you don't have really strong teams at the top, that could make some sense if you have 3 tor more teams that are really good in your conference.

Can anybody here tell me what happened to Wichita State? I remember being excited about their membership and then the wheels have come off.

He's lost all of his most important assistants. When he really had it rolling, he had Steve Forbes and some others that have moved on to higher level jobs. Second part is the AAC is much tougher and their recruiting hasn't changed to match the level of athlete to compete with the top teams.

They also had a ton of turnover on their roster after last year.

That old coach says we should be happy to be in the middle of the pack within AAC. So I could turn it into a joke. But after watching teams play, I really do believe the bottom is not as bad as in past years. ECU and Tulane each have an athlete and play more respectable ball. Not saying our efforts vs them was ok-at all.

I also feel that this year (as I do most but not all years) the AAC is undervalued. Houston is a great team. Their defense and scoring inside is for real. Their outside scoring is suspect but isn't everyone's? ....live and die by the 3......but anyway. There are several teams growing and coming into their own that can be great-Tulsa, UCF, Memphis, UConn, Cincy, Wichita St. it's really a fun, competitive conference for bball and football.

Wichita St is going to be a power in the conference.

From our game against them it was easy to see they were very well coached, just not quite ready to execute the coaching. They will be a good team next season, and a pretty decent team going into the conf tournament.

I agree any team can win on any night and many things that may seem like big upsets are due to the AAC not having complete teams so matchups are key.

If we don't start rebounding we are going to get bit by a bad team that kills us on the glass. UCF is a gimmick team with Fall out there because he cannot move which forces them into a zone and you can neutralize his scoring by putting him on the line.

I agree. Rough year for them but they'll be back! Now that GM is in our conference, I just hope no one poaches him. The UCLA job has the tradition and money. That opening worries me. It would take a great job to steal him form the looks of it.

They Witches will be loaded with good 4-year players as many years as not.

Can that compete with what Penny is about to bring in? I doubt it.

A little surprising. But a warning playing them at their place. Very nice win for that team right now.

Held Tacko Fall to 6 points, 7 rebounds and 2 blocks in 32 minutes of play. Hope the Tiger staff watched closely. Doubtful the Tiger "bigs" can replicate that.

They had a good first year in the league like we did and then rebuild time.

We went 12-6, T3rd, 5th seed in conf. tournament the first year and have been pathetically average the last 4 years.

We're going to find out if Marshall still has it over the next couple of seasons.

He's only averaging 10 and 7, part of that is because he's shooting 28% from the line. He's also only playing about 26 minutes a game.

It's possible Tacko Fall might be the most overrated college player by Tigers fans we've ever faced.

Even when they still had Creighton, the level of the AAC as constituted now is better. Period. But, that should mean WSU will lose more games but still be National. This year is simply down as per the above.

From the reply, I’m thinking he wasn’t joking.
