Doomsayers relax. We are NOT on the bubble.

I know, I know. We're 16-3... but a total collapse is imminent.

Heck, I remember some of you said we'd be lucky to beat NKU.

If we beat Houston twice they will no longer be a ranked team.

UC could be on the bubble or a lock. Way too much basketball to be played for everyone. The biggest games are ahead. I would be really happy with sweeping home court. Then you really only need two more road wins to lock up a bid.

Feel comfortable about winning all the home games except the last one against Houston. But it is senior day so a big advantage for UC.

Winning at Houston is pretty unlikely.
Winning at Temple and UCF are going to be tough, but certainly winnable.
Toss ups at SMU (if healthy) UConn, and Memphis.

Looks like we are a pretty solid 7 seed as of now. Lack of wins over tournament teams may limit our ceiling in terms of seeding, but a strong finish (7-2 or better) and an AAC tournament championship would still put a protected seed in play.

Without a win over Houston or a sweep of everyone else I am not going to have a lot of confidence in UC’s selection and seeding. It almost makes next Sunday a must win because without that w, it sets up the last week of the season as extremely high pressure with at UCF and Houston at home.

This was an awful weekend for UC’s non-conference resume. Ole Miss is fading, NKU lost twice, UCLA missed an opportunity to climb into the PAC-12, Xavier is in last place, George Mason fell out of first place in the A-10, and WMU remains winless in the MAC. Essentially non-conference SOS is 167 right now. The ECU loss, poor non-conference, and lack of high end wins are big time red flags that are to put a ceiling on UC’s seed. The Cats can overcome this by beating Houston and winning the league.

RE: Bearcat Basketball Team Resume
I wouldn't expect a win at Houston though it's entirely possible. Alternately, I think this Bearcat team would really have to tank to miss the NCAA Tournament altogether. The schedule gets tougher this month. So do schedules for every other top seven conference school in February. All but maybe the super elite will absorb tough road losses during the next month.

I don't expect a high seed. Conversely, I don't expect to be buying tickets for a first round NIT game either.

A day after USF does so , UConn also slides into the top 75 . Moving that home win to Q2.

Q1 - 2-1 (5 games remaining)
Q2 - 4-1 (3 games remaining)
Q3 - 7-0 (1 games remaining)
Q4 - 6-1 (0 games remaining)

Good news. I'm sure there are statistical forecasts out there but just playing UC's February schedule with reasonable success seems it should elevate the performance profile. With Hurley coaching I like UCONN's chances of sustaining some success the final month too.
