RE: WAC basketball week 11
I'm sorry but Milstead should have been WAC POW this week. What he did in both NMSU and UTRGV was heroic and his numbers were very good. With every game Lever's WAC POY hopes are fading fast. I knew this would happen. He is a terrible defender and he is slow so he has a problem with the double team. Not even his bread and butter are working, the 3 point shot. If any Lopes player is in the running for WAC POY it's Milstead. At this point Lever doesn't even make 1st team.

It's setting up for NMSU to still not have the WAC lead after Week 3. Hopefully UVU can take Saturdays game to give them ANY shot at getting a piece of the reg season title. Not so bold claim- GCU/CSU-B sweeps this week to stay ahead in the race for at least the NIT.

Some folks posted on AggieAlert that UMKC has replaced NMSU in several bracketology projections.

That’s no big deal as most of them just look at the standings and plug them in accordingly. If you didn’t know anything about the WAC, you would pick UMKC too based on conference record. Any non-UMKC fan on here will tell you, they won’t win the conference or the autobid, but that’s how it looks right now.

So if I'm hearing you right, what you're saying is two home wins against Chicago St and CBU may not be the best predictor of overall success in conference play for the Roos? 04-jawdrop

No. Just saying that they’re just going by simple standings and not any predictions. Not a big deal to see UMKC instead of NMSU.

2 home wins and first place is a nice unexpected surprise but if we beat Bakersfield or just split the away trip I will be a bigger believer. UMKC still in first and I'll enjoy even if it is just for another day. Chiefs game on Sunday a little more important right now to us KC fans.

The roos started off very slowly (Kenpom dipped into 300s) but have played better ball since December 1st so they are a little better than KenPom says they are.

Chicago State playing close with GCU in the first five minutes. If the cougars play like this the rest of the season, things can get interesting.

Seattle looks like they have never seen a basketball before. I’m pretty shocked.

And after the first five minutes they implode. Good thing I made that post beforehand.

You missed 2 free throws with 10 seconds left and a 2 point lead. That’s why you lost the game.

If our jerseys had Aggies or GCU on the front we would have won. Same roster just different jerseys

The call was.... rough. Bakersfield has gotten lucky at home, and that isn't meant to be a knock on them. UVU's mishap at the end and CSU-B's BB putback along with the 3-pter getting fouled... Good for them though. Hopefully UMKC can bounce back nicely against GCU on Saturday.
