2019 OOC Schedules
Louisiana has a challenging OOC schedule for 2019. Open the season with a P5, one G5 at home, FCS at home and then on the road for a #FunBelt and #MACtion showdown.

Aug 31 vs Mississippi St @ the Super Dome
Sep 7 vs Liberty
Sep 14 vs Texas Southern
Sep 21 @ Ohio

I think we start 2-2, we could easily start 3-1 but that will depend on finding a QB to come in and play well.

I don’t like our bye week after the Campbell game and right before the USM game. USM will come to Troy after having played Miss St. They will have played two games and we only one game...still we should take care of business at home. It will be a tough game.

Same with Mizzou. They have a bye week right before playing us. Plenty of time for them to get ready. However, Troy is a giant killer, we want another P5 scalp!

Akron will have to replace a ton on defense. I expect a close game but a win.

Here’s ours

We could go anywhere between 3-1 and 1-3 and I doubt anyone would be surprised.

For South Alabama:

@ Nebraska
Jackson State
Memphis
@ UAB

I have no indication how we might fare in those games next year. Nebraska started turning the corner mid-season this year and I expect them to be much better in Frost’s second year. We kept the game close with Memphis this year for most of the game, but they pulled away late. UAB is good, but they lost a ton of players after this season. Hopefully we can get back to being the South Alabama that contributes in the OOC win department.

I believe 2-2 is the floor barring a string of critical injuries or some of mishap

Troy should have a great chance at 4-0 now that Lock is gone at QB. Just have to stop Kelly Bryant from running crazy.

About as good of a schedule you can ask for in G5.

Anything less than 3-1 would be disappointing

It’s not just Lock, they also lose some OLs, TE, some WRs and basically all of their starting and top backup DTs and some LBs. But we have a new coaching staff now, so I think we have a chance but it’s still Mizzou, so 50:50 IMO.

I love that they replace Lock with Kelly Bryant and you think that greatly improves Troy’s chances.

RE: 2019 OOC Schedules
We have our toughest overall non-conference schedule in a few years probably.

8/31 - @ Texas A&M - likely a sure loss in blowout fashion

9/7 - Vs. Wyoming - 6-6 team with no bowl invite. We're probably home dogs early in the season but winnable.

9/14 - @ SMU - Also winnable, but again we're probably underdogs on the road unless we look good vs. Wyoming and they look bad early in the season.

9/28 - Vs. Nicholls - Going to be the best FCS team we've played in awhile. They were 9-4 this year with a playoff win. Hopefully we can stay undefeated vs. FCS teams. But this won't be a cakewalk like our FCS games the past few years.

Bryant isn’t that great of downfield passer like Lock is. But man can he run it. Missouri also isn’t Clemson, Troy will be able to s ore.

Vs Grambling (W)
@ Florida State (L)
@ Iowa State (L)
Vs Memphis (not sure)

2-2 seems to be our ceiling, and 1-3 is definitely plausible. On the bright side, we have 6 home games for the first time in forever.

4-0: Not even on my radar.

3-1: Now THAT would be a turnaround!

2-2: Would still be outstanding.

1-3: Probably the most likely option.

0-4: Unfortunately, not out of the question.

We can win all of these. Scar is in a down period, and UNC is still super questionable.

09/07/19 - @ Kansas
09/14/19 - Norfolk State
09/21/19 - @ UMass

We also were supposed to have a game vs. Charleston Southern this season, but I haven't been able to confirm whether it's still planned or if it's been cancelled since we're playing Norfolk State.
