RE: Ranking coaching jobs in the MAC
It's hard to believe that there are 3 schools in the MAC ranked lower in facilities than WMU. However it is interesting that two of the schools ranked lower in facilities, Akron and Kent State, in most seasons are 2 of the top teams in the conference.

RE: Ranking coaching jobs in the MAC
(WMU MAC rank)
(7) Tradition – The history of the program
(7) Media Exposure – Games on national television
(6) Game Atmosphere – Includes attendance
(6) Budget/Resources – Includes coaches’ salaries, recruiting budget, travel budget, private planes, cost of attendance, etc.
(7) Buy Games – Programs who are bought the fewest number of times will rank first
(8) Geographical Recruiting Base – Proximity to players
(9) Facilities – Not just the arena, but also practice facilities, weight room, locker rooms, etc.
(7) Selling Pros – Being able to sell not only NBA players, but also those who play overseas

Seems like WMU located between Detroit & Chicago with Northern Indiana basketball not much more than a stones throw away would score better than eight on Geographical recruiting base.

Several things on this list are head scratchers ... Ball State should be ranked higher and Buffalo as well ... I think Akron/Kent's success make those jobs look a whole lot better than what they really are. Both are a bad hire away from easily being at the bottom of this list.
Also, when several schools have open enrollment (EMU, Akron and I believe Toledo) that should be added into the equation as well, especially for recruiting.

Rocket Men's Basketball haven't really signed players that are academic liabilities.
Their Fall GPA was 3.1 and most recent APR 990. Maybe that's why they been good but not great.
