A bunch on Pendrith and a bit on Holt. Pendrith's eagle on 17 was a result of a 10 foot putt. He hit a 390 yard drive off the tee. Wow.

Holt holed out on 16 from 145 yards out.

RE: Kent golfers in the pros - 2019 Edition
It's a big day tomorrow for Corey Connors at the next to last Tour event which features the top 70 players in FedEx points. Only the top 30 in the year long Fed-Ex Cup race make it to the (very lucrative) Tour Championship next week. Corey started the week ranked 27th but is having an excellent week. He's currently tied for 6th and if he finishes there, will be ranked about 20 heading into the Championship. Just making it to the Championship is every PGA pro's goal each year and Corey is really solidifying his place on Tour. What an amazing year he's had!

Conners finished T7th after a good round today and will be playing for the Tour Championship next week. He is 23rd in the Fed Ex Cup standings, so he will start the tournament one under, nine strokes behind the leader in the Fed Ex standings. This new format should be a hoot.

Mackenzie Hughes did finish in the Top 125 in Fed Ex Cup standings and keeps his PGA card. The second half of his year was really quite good, so hopefully he can build off of it for next year.

Corey Conners finished 26th in the Tour Championship today and won $500K. He won almost $3M on tour this year, the most ever won in a season by a Flash.

RE: Kent golfers in the pros - 2019 Edition
Possibly interesting developments on the Great White North (Mackenzie) Tour where Taylor Pendrith heads into the weekend tied for 1st and Ian Holt is tied for 4th, three strokes back.

With just 2 tournaments left (including this one), Pendrith is in very good shape to earn his Korn Ferry card back (he is 4th on the order of merit with the top 5 getting Korn Ferry cards). Holt is 10th, which has value because he'll get a bye all the way to the finals of Q school.

Pendrith rocked today shooting a 10 under 62 and will take a 5 shot lead into the final round of the Mackenzie Tour Mackenzie Investments Open. Ian Holt shot even par and dropped back to a tie for 17th.

RE: Kent golfers in the pros - 2019 Edition
Pendrith wins for the second time this year on the Mackenzie Tour, running away from the field with an 8 stroke win. He will move to 2nd in the Order of Merit and is just a few thousand Canadian loonies behind the leader going into the last tournament. Finishing first in the order of merit has value as it makes the player fully exempt for the entire Korn Ferry Tour season. That means not worrying about reorders in the priority list.

Ian Holt finished T13 and moves up to ninth on the order of merit. Getting to the Top 5 will be very hard at this point, but staying in the Top 10 means getting a pass all the way to the finals of Q School.

RE: Kent golfers in the pros - 2019 Edition
For those that like mini-dramas, the Mackenzie Tour season concludes today. Ian Holt and Taylor Pendrith are playing for something bigger than the actual tournament and are tied for 7th over the first few holes of the final round.

For Pendrith, finishing high (a little higher than 7th) will likely mean winning the order of merit and having a fully exempt Korn Ferry card next year not suggest to reshuffles. As it is, he will have his Korn Ferry card next year, but he will be subject to reshuffles, which means a slow start can push Pendrith out of being able to get into events.

For Holt, finishing in the Top 10 of the order of merit means a pass to the Q school final. There are a ton of players that can get into the top 10, so Holt will have to play well today and see how the others do.

I don't know why, but I really find this stuff endlessly entertaining. I also thought Battlefield Earth wasn't that bad of a movie, so I have no taste.

Things didn't work out today for Holt and Pendrith, who finished in a tie for 10th. Pendrith clearly is playing his best golf in several years and I am looking forward to him on the Korn Ferry Tour. Holt goes to Q school.

Golf's lack of off-season is weird.

Ok, 3rd tournament of the 2019-20 season and 2nd each that Hughes and Conners participated in. Both missed the cut on their first and Hughes missed the cut, but Conners made the cut and thanks to a great final round will end up T12 at this week's Safeway Open.

Chase Johnson just finished his third round (shot 63!) at the Korn Ferry Tour first stage qualifying and is smokin at -17 which is good for 2nd place.
Leaderboard

There are a bunch of first stage sites so getting through this one is just the first step.

Corey Conners finished T12th after a very strong final round in the CJ Cup. This is a weird event: a PGA tour event held in South Korea where there are only 75 golfers (60 for the PGA and a bunch of strong Korean golfers) and the sort of event that you get a shot at when you finish highly in the PGA rankings the year before.

The PGA Tour is continuing its Far East swing and Conners is currently T10 at the ZOZO championship in Japan. They are most of the way through the final round, but ran out of light and will finish Monday morning (our Sunday evening). Conners was as high as T2 during the third round but has struggled a bit in the 4th round.

Chase Johnson is currently sitting in 8th place after three rounds of qualifying on the Korn Ferry Tour. He needs to finish in the top 20 after today's round to advance to the final qualifying tournament. It's been a long journey keep advancing through the multiple stages of qualifying.

Chase is in the clubhouse tied for 2nd - he is advancing to the final stage.

Corey Conners is playing the WGC event in China and is tied for 20th after two rounds. He has had a very successful Asian trip so far.

RE: Kent golfers in the pros - 2019 Edition
“Players who advance to Final Stage are assured a Korn Ferry Tour card for the following season, with Final Stage results determining how players are ordered on early-season field lists.

• The medalist at Final Stage (and ties) will receive fully exempt status for the 2020 Korn Ferry Tour Regular Season.

• Finishers 2-10 (and ties) at Final Stage will receive exempt status through the second reshuffle period of the 2020 Korn Ferry Tour Regular Season (approximately 12 starts), and will be subject to subsequent reshuffles (which occur in approximately four-event intervals).

• Finishers 11-40 (and ties) at Final Stage will receive exempt status through the first reshuffle period of the 2020 Korn Ferry Tour Regular Season (approximately eight starts), and will be subject to subsequent reshuffles (which occur in approximately four-event intervals).”
