RE: Kent golfers in the pros - 2019 Edition
Hughes finished tied for 14th and probably now has collected enough Fed Ex points (383) to keep his card next year. After a year and a half of pretty rough golf, Hughes has really played well lately. He has made 7 of his last 9 cuts and has a second place finish along with 2 Top 10s and 4 Top 25s. He started the year missing 7 of 9 cuts and last season, he only made 11 of 26 cuts.

I guess in summary:

Last 9 tournaments 35 Tournaments before that
Made 7 cuts Made 13 cuts
4 Top 25s 3 Top 25s
2 Top 10s 1 Top 10
1 Second

Golf is a weird game.

RE: Kent golfers in the pros - 2019 Edition
Slow weekend. Conners and Hughes did not make it to the US Open (both didn't make the cut at sectional qualifiers along with Brett Cairns, who also played one). Yip withdrew from the web.com event after a rough first round. Pendrith didn't make the cut at the GolfBC Open.

That leaves Ian Holt who is currently third at the GolfBC Open after shooting a 62 today. This included back to back eagles (hole in one on the 8th and 3 on the par 5 9th).

Mackenize Hughes finished T21 in the Rocket Mortgage Classic (I really, really hate "Rocket Mortgage"). Conners missed the cut.

At this point, Hughes is ensured of finishing in the Top 125 in the Fed Ex standings and keeping his PGA card. He is 87th and likely has 50 points more than will be needed to stay in the Top 125. Conners is sitting at 29th (wins go a long way).

Ryan Yip withdrew from a Korn Ferry (new name for the web.com) Tour event a week ago and did not play this week. He is 97th in their point system and needs to get to the Top 25 to make the playoffs for a chance at a PGA card.

And currently playing on the Mackenzie Tour, Ian Holt (14th) and Taylor Pendrith (35th) need to reach the Top 5 to earn a Korn Ferry card. That said, the more likely path is through the Q school qualifying.

I cannot seem to find Chase Johnson's scores lately. How is he doing?

The Latinoamerica Tour typically does not play in the summer (our summer in the Northern Hemisphere). If it follows the typical pattern, there will be fall tournaments, though they haven't been announced yet.

Chase is 81st in the Order of Merit on that tournament. He isn't playing with the Mackenzie Tour, so I guess he is spending the summer working on his game.

Taylor Pendrith is alone in second place two shots back of the leader on the Mackenzie Tour at TPC Toronto. He’ll be in the final group tomorrow.

Mac Hughes just opened the Wyndham Championship with a 7-under 63, which is currently second place. Corey Connors is just now teeing off.

Hughes finishes round two with a nice 66 to be 11-under after two rounds and in a tie for third, two strokes back of the leader.

Corey Connors also shot 66 today to go with a 69 yesterday and sits at -5, well back but will make the cut by one.

Hughes shot a 1-under 69 and sits in 10th place heading into the final round. Connors is 25th. Both are in great shape to advance to the finals.

Pendrith is now up by 1 over Holt, who is alone in 2nd.

That's be pretty cool to get a Kent 1-2 finish in a tournament.

Ouch. Holt is 3-over on the back 9 and has dropped to 11th place.

Pendrith is in the clubhouse after a 62 with a three stroke lead. The guys who are now behind him have 5 holes to go.

Pendrith eagled 17. I hope we can find a highlight of that putt. Up 3 on two other golfers with 4 holes to go. He's in great shape...

And Pendrith wins! Unless there is an error on the PGA site or Ryan Ruffels figures out how to shoot a double eagle on a par 3.

Ok, not quite 1-2, but 1-T3.

Pendrith wins the 1932 by Bateman Open. Holt finishes tied for third.

And Conners and Hughes ended up tied for 23rd on the PGA tour.
