Hughes shot even today and is currently tied for 15th with some players still on the course, so that might change up or down a little. He'll get about 60 Fed Ex points for this weekend's work, more than doubling what he came into the weekend with.

Hughes is tied for 11th at the alternative PGA event, so hopefully he is building on the good week last week.

Conners missed that cut to that event, Yip missed the cut to the web.com event and Chase Johnson had a very rough start to his Latinoamerica Tour career and missed the cut there.

In case you wanted to follow, Mackenzie Hughes has moved up to a tied for second after 14 holes, one stroke behind the leader.

RE: Kent golfers in the pros - 2019 Edition
Hughes finished tied for second. He was a few groups ahead of the leaders and bogeyed the last hole to fall two behind the leader (McDowell) and one behind the second place at the time (Stroud), but both McDowell and Stroud bogeyed the last hole as well and so Hughes moved back into a tie for second with Stroud and finished one behind McDowell.

For Hughes, this will be 135 Fed Ex points and will move him up to about 90th in the Fed Ex Standings, showing how a couple of good weeks can negate 4 months of mediocre golf (ha, I said mediocre golf like I wouldn't be thrilled with a bogey on a PGA course).

Valero Texas Open (the one that Ben Curtis won about a decade ago).

* Corey Conners is currently second, one stroke off the leader. He made the tournament as a Monday qualifier (again) and has played very well this week. Mackenzie Hughes is also having a good week and is tied for 31st at the moment.

Ok, Conners actually made up a bunch of ground today, going from 4 strokes back to just one and in second by himself. Tomorrow could be very fun as Conners has been in the final group a few times now and I think really learned from it. He definitely gave quite a run at Cameron Champ at the Sanderson Farms Open and it was more Champ playing kickass golf to hold off Conners than Conners not rising to the moment.

Hughes is also having a very good week and is at T-22 going into tomorrow's final round.

This is a kind of weekend you hope for when you follow the Kent golfers in the pros.

Four straight bogeys and Conners drop to 2nd, 1 stroke down. Settle down...you're still in great shape. Play your game and you'll be fine.

Conners is up by one with three to go. He made a great putt on 15 to save par.

If you are into this sort of thing, you might want to find it on TV right about now.

There's no steady in Corey's game today: it's been blazing, shaky, then blazing again. What a tee shot on 16! Staked it!

It doesn't happen often, but it's pretty darn awesome when it does. Congrats to Corey Conners for his first PGA win!

RE: Kent golfers in the pros - 2019 Edition
In addition to the Masters next week, he gets full exempt status through 2020, and entry into every limited field event the rest of the year. And besides all that, he takes home a check for 1.4M. It’s a career making week. He goes from a borderline tour pro to one with a lot of job security. And money. Lots of money.

I thought the exact same thing and Connor's wife drinking wine out of plastic cup and not spilling when high fiving and hugging. 04-cheers
