2019 football games with dates announced
USM has released dates of our CUSA games so I'm assuming the same can be said of others:

Interesting that this year has 2 bye weeks. We don't play our 2 crossover games until the final 2 weeks of the season. I like how our bye weeks are set up to where we play 5 games then a bye, 3 games then a bye, then finish with 4 games to end the regular season. And thank goodness we avoid a home game Thanksgiving weekend for a third straight year

8/31 - Alcorn St
9/7 - @ Miss St
9/14 - @ Troy
9/21 - @ Alabama
9/28 - UTEP
10/5 - bye week
10/12 - North Texas
10/19 - @ La Tech
10/26 - @ Rice
11/2 - bye week
11/9 - UAB
11/16 - @UTSA
11/23 - WKU
11/30 - @FAU
12/7 - CUSA CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

WKU's schedule, I like we have 6.5 home games really. Also like it we only have two Nov. home games (will help attendance) and double byes this season. Last home game vs. MTSU is a nice addition too I would think:

2019 WKU Football Schedule
Aug. 31 – Central Arkansas
Sept. 7 – at FIU*
Sept. 14 – vs. Louisville (Nashville)
Sept. 28 – UAB*
Oct. 5 – at Old Dominion*
Oct. 12 – Army
Oct. 19 – Charlotte*
Oct. 26 – at Marshall*
Nov. 2 – Florida Atlantic*
Nov. 9 – at Arkansas
Nov. 23 – at Southern Miss*
Nov. 30 – Middle Tennessee*

What moron in the conference office cannot get it through their head to STOP DOING CROSSOVER GAMES IN THE FINAL 2 WEEKS?? BOTH of ours are that way. Sets up a potential repeat only days later and kills any chance of attendance. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.

I'm digging FIU's schedule:

Aug. 29 at Tulane
Sept. 7 WKU*
Sept. 14 NEW HAMPSHIRE
Sept. 21 at Louisiana Tech*
Oct. 5 UMASS
Oct. 12 CHARLOTTE*
Oct. 19 UTEP*
Oct. 26 at Middle Tennessee*
Nov. 2 OLD DOMINION*
Nov. 9 at Florida Atlantic*
Nov. 23 MIAMI (Fla.)^
Nov. 30 at Marshall*
Dec. 7 C-USA Championship

* denotes Conference USA Games
^ game location is TBD

Seven "home" games this year. The Miami game venue is still TBD. It's interesting that the Miami game is so late in the year. The game against Marshall in the finale may determine who wins C-USA east, somewhat similar to this past season.

With 7 schools in the East and 7 in the West there has to be at least 1 crossover game the final week unless a team has a bye week and another has an OOC game. But i agree for us or any team to have both crossover games the final 2 games is pretty moronic.

This is a heavily debated topic for FIU fans. Fact: It will be a "home" game for FIU regardless. Now where that "home" game is played is still being determined. There seems to be three options:

1) Play the game at FIU Stadium. Reasons against doing this are supposedly Miami feels the stadium is too small (capacity is about 22-23 k). Also the limited capacity will limit ticket revenue for FIU. Personally, I want the game played here. The atmosphere would be incredible.

2) Play the game at Marlins Park. It is a neutral site. Capacity is slightly larger than FIU stadium. I believe around 30 k. It has been used for bowl game previously.

3) Play the game at Hard Rock Stadium (where Dolphins and Canes play). This is where FIU played Miami last year, but it was a Miami home game. The argument for doing this is you make more money from tickets. But clearly you are basically playing a home game at Miami's home stadium (not on-campus but still).

I have yet to hear which option is the favorite as of now. I say make Miami play FIU in The Cage and let's beat them this time.

IMO i would want the game at FIU's stadium. Granted it is smaller than the other 2 venues but that should help with season ticket sales even though Miami fans would be the ones buying quite a few just to get tickets to that game. Give or take 5 years ago USM hosted Mississippi St on opening weekend. The State fans were mad that USM would not sell single game tickets until the day of the game which caused quite a few of them (not sure on exact number but would guess probably close to 1000 or so) to buy USM season tickets to guarantee they got tickets to the game. It wasn't like we were going to sell out any other games so it ended up being a nice financial boost for USM.

WKUYG, you got Central Arkansas, Army, Louisville, and Arkansas. I'd give USM a solid chance to sweep that 4-0. WKU just might go 1-3.

Against Alcorn, MSU, Troy, and Bama, we have a pretty good shot at 3-1. Our defense will be solid again, so we'll be in every game.

8/31 - Alcorn St - like JSU this past year, over before halftime.
9/7 - @ Miss St - they lose their DLine and Fitz. We'll be underdogs, but I like our chances.
9/14 - @ Troy - new coach and we owe them.
9/21 - @ Alabama - best measuring stick around.
9/28 - UTEP - I'm initially worried about this one.
10/5 - bye week
10/12 - North Texas - Fine/Guyton come to the Rock again.
10/19 - @ La Tech - Ferguson's penalty was last year's faceplant. Getting smaller.
10/26 - @ Rice - have you ever looked up Earl Campbell's stiff-arm of a Rice defender on Youtube?
11/2 - bye week - nice break here
11/9 - UAB - one play away, arguably, from taking the West from you last year.
11/16 - @UTSA - a mystery at this point, but trending down.
11/23 - WKU - finally. Welcome to Hattiesburg. Your new coach should know what he has to work with by this game. LOL!
11/30 - @FAU - just up I-95 a little bit from me here in Fort Liquordale. Follow me to Key West after the game. Seriously. Best drive you will EVER make.

4 games we'll be heavy favorites, 2 games we'll be huge underdogs, the others will be within 10 points. Should be great.

Do you know how stupid both those comments are? I dont know which is sillier the above or you thinking UNT should be ranked preseason.

S. Miss will be a 5 to 7 point dog @Troy, 30 point dog @Bama and at least a 14 point dog @Miss St and you think S. Miss has a good chance to win 3.

We are talking about a S. Miss team that loss to ULM at home, to UNCC and scored 7 points vs UNT. Yet you think S. Miss has a "soild chance" at going 3-0 vs a Army team that was 11-2, UofL and Ark

You better stick to picking a 5-3 CUSA team as top 25, probably better odds

Ooooh, nice. Thank you. Maybe we can stop his other receivers. Maybe.

WKUYG, Army won't be as good, neither will MSU or Troy. Arkansas might improve some. Louisville will be middle of the pack, at best, in the ACC. Yes, USM should have a better record than WKU OOC. We have more returning and should be a darkhorse in the West division.
