Steve King asks how terms 'white nationalist' & 'white supremacist' became offensive
https://thehill.com/homenews/house/42468...ist-became

Quote:Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) is questioning how terms such as "white nationalist" and "white supremacist" became offensive in the U.S.

“White nationalist, white supremacist, Western civilization — how did that language become offensive?” King asked in an interview with The New York Times published on Thursday. “Why did I sit in classes teaching me about the merits of our history and our civilization?”

The comments came as part of an expansive report from the newspaper on King’s hard-line views on immigration and how they mirror much of what President Trump has pushed for during his presidency.

King, for example, once went on the House floor to showcase a 12-foot wall for the southern border that he designed, the Times notes.

Trump is now demanding $5.7 billion for a steel barrier along the U.S.-Mexico border to be included in a government spending bill, a campaign promise Democrats oppose.

The impasse has led to a partial government shutdown that is nearing its fourth week.

The Times notes that Trump invited King to the Oval Office early in his presidency. King told the newspaper that the president boasted of raising more for King’s campaigns than anyone else.

“Yes, Mr. President,” King replied. “But I market-tested your immigration policy for 14 years, and that ought to be worth something.”

King’s divisive comments about immigration have led to scrutiny in past years. He once tweeted that diversity is not America's strength.

In 2018, he also defended his association with a far-right Austrian group with links to the Nazi Party and hard-line views on immigration.

“If they were in America pushing the platform that they push, they would be Republicans,” King told The Washington Post last October.

His public comments led a number of corporations, such as AT&T and Intel, to announce last year they would not make campaign contributions to the congressman.

King dismissed his critics in November as "uninformed," saying, "if you attack someone and you don’t cite anything, you’re just a cannibal."

Despite making headlines right before the midterms, King beat the Democratic challenger by 3 points.

King, who has represented Iowa’s 4th Congressional District since 2013, told the Times that he did not consider himself a racist. He argued that his Twitter timeline showing him greeting Iowa residents of all backgrounds proves his argument.

He added that he supports legal immigrants fully assimilating because “the culture of America” matters more than race, according to the newspaper.

He can't seem to just stop talking can he?

I've never understood why Iowans merit the early caucus honor. Corn is definitely not brain food.

Everyone knows that virtually all first world countries were created by "whites". E. Asians fall into that category also. Ashkenazi Jews as an example tend to have high IQs across the board and there are reasons for that. How "Whites" formed societies, cultures, transacted business, made global investments, certain aspects of the culture allow for this. "White" supremacy might be a bad term created to lump in groups that were not really considered white by other whites though.

Discovery of periodic table of elements. Some people and cultures care about this some did not.

An Indian immigrant came come to the USA and have opportunities here that would be impossible over there, it is the cultural.

I'm white and I am nationalist so I guess I am a white nationalist. What does that have to do with race other than the fact that I am white? My America first nationalism includes all Americans.

RE: Steve King asks how terms 'white nationalist' & 'white supremacist' became offensive
Steve King is a white nationalist and a white supremacist. As are MANY of Trump's supporters.

What many of the Trumpers want isn't just a national America, but an ethnically 'pure' (oops I mean white) America. That's why any compromise with them on immigration issues is a fools errand. There will never be a compromise that will make them happy other than the expulsion of all non-white (and non-straight) persons from this country or their permanent classification as 2nd class citizens.

Whats the difference between Steve King and Donald Trump? I have trouble finding any difference.

Nigerian Americans have the highest rate of graduate degrees, E. and S. Asians have higher per capita incomes than others, virtually every Jew thinks they are superior to non Jews, most Bubbas don't care. blacks are obsessed with Jews and colorism within black communities is over the top, Black Africans say hey we are NOT AA's, most Black women straighten their hair or do weave. The rest of us are just trying to be normal, and you preach to us about real Gays, when wealthy white gays murder black prostitutes in LA.

King's statement. He seems to unequivocally disavow any ties to white nationalism or white supremacy.

If only the alt-left, anti-Semitic fringe would do the same.

Pro tip...If you're trying to rebut claims about being a white supremacist....perhaps you shouldn't put up a post from a credibly accused of bigotry pundit attacking a group of ALL NON-WHITE people.

I didn't catch Steve King apologizing for hanging out with and condemning his foreign racist buddies.

Laura Loomer has some spicy takes, but she isn't a racist. Her problem is with radical islam, which isn't a race.

She's also Jewish, so I won't entertain the argument that she's a white supremacist. Just because all the Congresswomen that are anti-Semitic, just so happen to also all be wahmen of color, that does not = white supremacy.

So you can't debate it. You like a muslim women who is ok with killing gays because she is not a white hetero male high school football coach who is a christian. Makes perfect sense. What a basket of deplorable nut jobs.

You have absolutely zero factual basis for that rant.

You should take up dope smoking to relieve your anxiety, it has to be debilitating to walk around in a snit all day over perceived slights and aggression's dropped on your lap by your media. Why have you allowed them to convince you that you are guilty of anything and everything just because you're white?
