My recall (not perfect) not really thrilled with Kill everyone was expecting one of his assistants. Crowd much more pleased with DD.

Kill rubbed some people the wrong way with how heated he got on the SIU sideline when they came to town, and overall it seemed kinda lukewarm but positive. Now I wonder how deep the search archives go here, though.

This comment by Flames25Rulz in the DD thread is PRICELESS:

Quote:Sure. Hopefully he'll be recruiting for NIU while he's still with Wisconsin. At least I hope that's what he'll be doing.

Bring PJ in as the assistant head coach/head coach in waiting/WR coach and Hammock as the OC. I'd be very satisfied with that staff

I haven't posted in quite some time, but like just about everyone on the board I am very excited to see Thomas Hammock return to NIU. Looking forward to the Hammock tenure! Go Huskies!

RE: New Coach Discussion
Just saw this...
New Crimson Tide assistant coach Charles Huff was a finalist for the NIU head coaching job and also turned down an opportunity for a spot on the Notre Dame staff but couldn’t pass up a chance to coach at #Alabama.Bruce Feldman added,

Not sure if NIU is mentioned in the article but here's the link for those with a subscription: https://theathletic.com/773433/2019/01/1...osh-lupoi/ ($$)

If he can bring in some young ex players for staff and if anything for a presence, I think carey was lacking that connection.

Idk how anyone would know his recruiting history lol. I wouldn’t say “there’s no history” as much as I would say nobody on here knows the history.

RE: New Coach Discussion
Hammock already met with the Student Association President to solicit ideas on what can be done to better engage students.

Wow, I don't think Carey even knew we had a Student Association. Go Coach Hammock!
