Amazing how they host two tournaments on their own home court. But going 1-3….not good.

Yeah, interesting how the team’s leading rebounder is a freshman (Voss) who comes off the bench.

The team’s leading scorer is a freshman from Quebec, Canada in Gauthier. She shots a lot from the outside. So do Robinson and Adams. As a team, FAU is dead last in the Conference in ppg (59.7) and defensively they have given up the second most points in the league. This game will feature the two worst shooting free throw teams in the conference. FAU averages 21.4 turnovers per game.

Ast/TO ratio:

Youth. That is what is going to on display in tonight’s game. While everyone knows ODU has a young team, FAU has 8 freshmen on the squad. Second year head coach Jim Jabir is very much retooling his program. He was a proven winner when he coached Dayton in the A-10. (6 straight NCAA appearances) For ODU, this is exactly the type of team that we need to face. Coming off a disappointing road trip, this will allow the Monarchs to get back on track at home. We do need to win this game. Yes the season is young, but we don’t want to fall too big into a hole.

RE: WBB Game 15: FAU (3-12, 0-2) vs ODU (9-4, 0-2)
Final score. ODU 87, FAU 53. The Monarchs made 13 three's, which ties the program record (last year vs Coppin St) It was a season high in points, field goals made (31), and assists (18). It was an impressive defensive outing too. They held FAU's leading scorer, Gauthier to just one basket (2 points). Truth be told, it was actually better than that. You see FAU got a quick turnover and they passed the ball to Gautheir who was right under the basket with nobody around her. Whenever ODU had a body on her, she couldn't score. In short, it was a lot of fun to be a Monarch fan tonight.

Other games
La Tech 73, UAB 68 in Birmingham, AL.
FIU 54, Charlotte 69
UTEP 51, North Texas 70
Southern Miss 49, Middle Tenn 66
UTSA 54, Rice 85

Good win. Enjoyable to watch. Almost everyone who played (and that was everyone) scored. Nice to see such balanced scoring. If you’re not coming to the games, you’re missing an entertaining experience. I really like the way Coach Nikki coaches, the offense and the grittiness on defense.
